Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm never buying Epson again. I had an Epson a couple years ago and it was bar none the worst printer I have ever owned!

Sorry to hear about your problems with Epson. I've had an R200 for a few years now with no complaints, other than ink is insanely expensive (like any inkjet though).

As far as labels, I swore them off many years ago after my friend's brother ruined his brand-new car CD deck due to a label coming off while inside it.

Maybe I'm missing something in your question, but what would be the point?

He's currently posting the DVD-5 versions (for those of you in Rio Linda, DVD-5 is the standard, less expensive, single layer blanks you can buy). I don't see why you would want to reduce the quality to make it an xvid only to put it back on a DVD-5 to play back in your DVD player.

If you want an xvid for some other portable device, why not just make one yourself from the DVD-5? Really not that hard, and if you get stuck, Google is your friend.

Again, maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem worth it...

That is the group you need.

some people call it a.b.starwars as a shortcut or nickname. That is what I was trying to point out to you in my previous reply.

You will be able to get it just like the rest of us. 8)

Your English is fine....

a.b.starwars and alt.binaries.starwars are one in the same.

It sounds like you should be able to get it at the same time as the rest of us.

@SomethingStarWarsRelated re DS2 in TESB....

If Ady's plan was to do only the Original Trilogy, I'd say you might be on to something (though obviously Tarkin would have to be painted out or replaced).

However since he is doing the entire Saga, I think this scene should remain in Sith.

Ady, your dedication to correcting the Saga is amazing. You rock, my friend. Can't wait to see this. At least we'll have the DVD-5 and DVD-9s of ANH:Revisited to tide us over until then

TESB is an almost-perfect film in it's original 1980 incarnation. The 97 SE is wrong on so many levels, and the 04 SE is only slightly better.

What I'm hoping gets changed for Ady's version:

* Color-correction. Snow should be white, not blue.
* Vader's pissed "Bring my shuttle" line
* Original Boba voice
* Subtle effects to Taun-Tauns, and bounty hunters. Don't touch Yoda though.
* Remove shot of Vader landing on the star destroyer taken from ROTJ
* Luke's scream was wisely removed from the 04 SE, keep it that way
* "You're lucky you don't taste very good" should be restored
* I could go either way with the Wampa.
* Larger ground battle on Hoth

After seeing what you did to ANH, I am sure we will all be blown away by what you do to ESB

Believe me dude, if it was there would be hundreds of posts about it. See any yet? Nope, me neither.

Ady just had some major computer setbacks. It might be a while yet. It'll be worth the wait.

In answer to your question: the XVID AVI is the only release available currently.

you can get it by torrents,rapidshare and the newsgroups,that covers all 3 bases,just take your pick and go with it,no need to wait for a handout when all these options are still WIDELY available.

I agree... sure you have to dabble in the "Dark Side" of the internet, the side that most people don't know about, but there are some amazing things out there if you know where to look and how to get them.

I uninstalled DivX6 and the problem still existed.

I re-installed my previous xvid, ffdshow, and AC3 filter and everything went back to normal. Something the DivX 6 adds overwrites something that does not install because it is not part of Divx. I think the XVid re-install actually is what fixed it.....so it must be one of the codecs that Xvid and Divx Share is my guess.....any way....I hope this may help you if have not already figured it out.

That'd be frickin sweet if that's all it was...

I'm guessing it's the latter...

Ady, I sincerely hope that whatever problems you are currently encountering get rectified soon, however I will echo the previous poster in saying that if we have to wait another year so be it. We've waited this long, and have the xvid to tide us over.
