Hi Jenny,

I read "1984" in, well, 1984. Sadly, I can only report that the similarities between "1984" and life have gotten closer and closer. Especially since we now have the technology to make 1984 real. But yes, Lucas is definitely a party member, as it were

I remember a bit in the novel where Smith's neighbor is ecstatic that the chocolate ration went *up* from 10 grams to 5. I've seen posts from fanboys on IMDB of a very similar vein recenty, "Lucas never said he wouldn't release the OOT." - LOL.

thanks for answering, Klokwerk

Okay, got Virtual Dub and the single audio files are all able to be joined, as are the dual audio files. So we're good there. As you said, joining both cannot be done directly. So, now I need to ask a real noob question = HOW do I retrieve the 2nd audio channel using Virtual Dub? I played around with every setting I could think of and understand (not many, LOL). I managed to create a .wav of the main audio stream, but can't figure out how to even play the second one with VD, let alone capture it. Thanx in advance!

Howdy all

Can someone please recommend a program I could use to join 4 .avi files without losing dual audio channels?

I have 4 different files, with dual audio on two of them (single audio on the other 2). Originally, they are about 1.5Gig in size, and I'd like to keep them that way after joining.

The free programs I've tried so far drop the 2nd audio channells and I end up with a 14Gig file at the end. Can someone help me?

Having been a SW fan since 1977, the only surprise in the news of the release of the OOT was in how fast it came. Look, this trick is an old one for Lucas: "make them drool, THEN give them what they want." He's the master at it.

An appeal to the XO team:

Please guys, do NOT stop your excellent work. Lord only knows what will be on those DVDs in September. Could be nothing more than half-arsed "re-insert the original scenes" on top of the 2004 films. Look at the shoddy audio mixing and rotoscoping done to the 2004 "definitive-original vision-this is it" versions. Only in Sept. will we know what we're getting.

In the meantime, perhaps those who have slaved so very hard over the various fan restorations should get together a list of stuff Lucasfilm needs to look at for their own OOT restoration. And please don't forget the damned green lightsaber on the Falcon
