I just watched the despecialized version of ESB and I am overjoyed to see the Vader “Bring my shuttle” line restored to all of its glory.
I always loved that line and remember being horrified when I saw it had been taken out. To me it’s the worst change in the SE’s for many reasons.

{Many excellent points removed}

Agree 100%. “Bring my shuttle” has been my favorite Vader line for years because it says so much with so little and was accompanied by the best building tension and musical sequence in the entire trilogy.

It’s the little things… 😃 Thankfully, Lucas never edited any of Vader’s dialogue to refer to “hating of sand”

The last time I watched the special editions was when I saw them in the theater in 1997 (and I even have the 2006 DVD set with the GOUT bonus discs, but I never bothered to watch the new special edition DVDs that they came with; although I have seen a few scenes online, “Hayden’s ghost”, etc.).

I’ve never felt any motivation to rewatch bastardized versions of Star Wars when I can just watch…Star Wars…the real thing…

Nothing like the real thing!

I watch both. But I’ll have to admit, now that I’m older I get more nostalgic for the originals, and tend to put them on more. My kids are teens, and love the movies, and I like showing the originals so they can get a feel for what I saw as a kid. I guess to me it’s like me spinning up my vinyl copy of a Steely Dan record, or one of my other classic favorite bands, vs listening to them via Mp3 or CD 😃 I Love the silver screen edition, since its gritty and nostalgic, but Harmy is amazing as well. I’d love to be able to burn a nice fan edit with the nice menus. I saw one on here that looked incredible. If I’m able to get on myspleen someday, I’d definitely look at burning a nice copy of that along with printing a nice custom cover to leave out for me and the kiddos to watch. Best of both worlds.

When you were introduced to Star Wars for the first time
Time

I read the Star Wars novel back in 1977 when I was 10, before I watched the movie. I went to the cinema to see it right after it was released. No internet back then of course, but I remember all the hype and discussion about it through word of mouth and on the TV and radio. I was lucky enough to live across the street from a drive in theater and when it came to that theater, I watched it EVERY night from my front porch standing on a chair to see over the drive in fence 😃 I could hear the sound coming from all the speakers hanging from the car windows! Yeah, I was a little obsessed…
