Original Trilogy DVD Article in Total Film
Time
I find it hilarious that the "supposed" idea behind this release is to see 'which version' people prefer...oh sure, they'll find out with the sales of this release. Uh huh. Yeah. All they've been talking about during this time leading up to the release is discussing how the fans are dissappointed with the DVDs contents, and they haven't even come out yet. At Comiccon, now McCallum. Any news media with any intelligence has shot down the shitty way in which they're being "restored" or lack there-of.
"Uh, gee Wally, they want to find out which versions the fans really want." I wonder if they will be able to figure it out???

Top Ten Favourite Movies
Time
boon23, then what you say about loving movies MUST be true. I can't imagine why ANYONE would even be near this website if they don't list Star Wars pretty high up in their favorite movies. I don't even like Star Trek and yet those movies might be in the lower end of my top 200. There's a good chance I'll never watch a Star Trek movie again. To each their own, I guess.

5/25/77 A fan film idea...
Time
Not to try to derail your idea, cause it's kind of interesting, but did you know someone is making a movie by that title? It's about a teen who likes filmmaking, and one aspect of the movie is the day Star Wars hits theaters. It sounds like it's gonna be good when it finally comes out.

I bet people would still want to watch the movie, even if they found out all that would happen over the years. It would be hard to comprehend at that stage, not knowing anything about Star Wars yet. I bet they'd be even more curious, possibly.

That's true George would probably already have gone back and changed the films. Seems like the kind of thing he'd do. He'd probably think, "Wow, I can actually make my 'original vision', my original vision! Let's do it!" It could also be a funny take for a movie tho, I think.

Top Ten Favourite Movies

Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Superman: the Movie
E.T.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Goonies
My Life as a Dog
Back to the Future
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

As I'm sure anyone can see I'm a sucker for American escapism. There's just one movie there that's a seriously GOOD movie. I just really love superficial entertainment. Oh well.

This guy claims he has never heard of Episodes 4,5, and 6.

Freaked you out...LOL. I probably would have been freaked out too. I always find it weird when people don't give a hoot about Star Wars. My early life was FORMED with Star Wars on the brain! My parents probably should have steered me completely clear of it, but it would have been inevitable the times I was growing up. I was going to be exposed to it somehow, it being everywhere in kiddom. Ah well.

Even Mark Hamill mentioned it in the interview someone posted here. When anyone gives Lucas even the slightest bit of constructive criticism or advice - he sees it as some sort of threat or challenge that must be defeated and he digs his heels in and prepares for battle.

That's just who he is, man.

That's destructive behavior too. Someday it's gonna come back and bite him on the ass. Money is good for many things in this world, but it doesn't cover for everything.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe: 1979 Animated VS. 2005 Live-Action
Time
Ooooh, I've always liked the animated one. Very hard to find. I've watched it maybe 4 times total my entire life. At this point I don't have or know exactly where to find a copy, but would be interested in finding one not too far down the road. It was a good telling of the story, and the animation and characters and music were really cool from what I remember.
I do like the 2005 version. I didn't care too much for the BBC version. One of the main things that bothered me was the girl who played Lucy. Buck teeth, and quite often went about with her mouth hanging open. Mary Poppins would say: "We are not a codfish!"
