So there you have it. The unaltered release wont be on the box-set.

Does make you wonder how on earth the LFL marketing team is going to make a box set appeal to fans of the OUT?

With the GOUT dvd 'trump' card already played, what else is there to really go on?

No Jedi mind trick is gonna make me cough up the cash for more digital trickery, that's for sure!

I bet they'll put in the deleted scenes and outtakes people have wanted to see for years, as well as the original 'making ofs' which have been elusive for so long. ESPECIALLY the Making of Star Wars. GL is a punk, and I bet he'll do it.

You ARE concerning yourself with it, MORON! It's too bad you're blind to your own stupidity. You should thank me for pointing that out to you. I could have let you live in ignorance. Now go watch your special editions.

Do you REALLY think there will be remastered versions of the OOT or whatever? I don't.
Time
Those who are fans of the SEs and/or PT and don't want to give it a rest with fans of the OOT need to step back and realize it's not their "calling" to change other's minds about the movies. There are many of us who don't care for those other movies. GIVE IT UP. It's worse than saying that hardcore OOT fans whine, which many actually don't. Some people can't live with the fact that people have different taste in movies, music, art than them. So what? I don't give a flying you-know-what if people love the SEs or PT. It's their own taste in movies, and it doesn't bother me if they like something I don't.

Stop trying to be a missionary to OOT fans. We like old school Star Wars. We don't care what you think about it.

The X-Files - Worth Watching?
Time
The X-Files RULES! It's my favorite show of all time. Just avoid seasons 7-9. They kind of suck. The other seasons are pretty solid most of the way through. Seasons 3 and 4 you can't go wrong.

I totally agree with you guys about Jose Chung's From Outer Space. That's my favorite episode, or at least probably favorite. War of the Coprophages is good too.

This is EXACTLY why I'm buying the DVDs. Lucas is an unpredictible asshat. Who the hell knows what he may ever do. I HOPE he has the sense to restore and release the originals, but if not I HAVE to buy this. He has proven he can't be trusted.

Star Wars DVDs, etc. on Home Shopping Network - Labor Day
Time
I basically never watch tv anymore. This might have been amusing to see tho.
100 copies of each title are not a lot tho, if you think about how many people would be potentially tuning in. That is what amazes me about people who buy shit on tv. They pay way more than they have to. Even at a normal retailer I imagine one can get these discs for $20. If you look around, less than 20. One thing, are they sending these purchased on the show out before the release date? That may be the thing.
HSN hosts are usually fun to watch when they are trying to sell Geek stuff they know nothing about. I bet that lady was funny.

Sending the SEs back
Time
Agreed. I'm all for doing things for charity but I wouldn't wish the SEs upon anybody. I hate those movies. If other people like 'em, more power to them, but I'm certainly not going to encourage any human alive to watch them. Sending them back to Lucas or throwing them in the trash is where they belong. They are an insult to the original films.
Also, as nice as it would be for this to be publisized and for more people to be informed about it, I don't care, nor do I have delusions as to the importance of it. I know my fandom is a niche, I see it nearly every day. A lot of it has to do with Lucas destroying Star Wars' legacy, passage of time, and the cheapening of the films' memory in the pop culture. In the large scheme of things Star Wars doesn't matter. It matters to fans here and elsewhere, for entertainment and some emotional fulfillment. Star Wars USED to be special, and there are a few of us who felt what it was and have somehow been able to hold onto it. There are always new people being exposed to it, and some of them may "get it". For them, I think they are the lucky ones. Other than that I think Star Wars is over, Sorry to say. Okay, I'm a pessimist. But I stil love these movies with a passion.

Which address are you sending them to? The PO Box?

I'm not quite sure yet. I'm in this thread to see which address other people might be sending to. I wasn't planning on buying the movies at all for a while, but then I came to the conclusion after much pondering of the history and facts of the last decade, and decided Lucas has proven that he can't be trusted, so I'm buying them after all and sending him back the SEs.

Even Cosmo Magazine is Talking About the 09/12 Release...
Time
LOL, Jenny! Yep, I pretty much feel the same way. I'm a fantasy fan, and some of the stuff I'm into happens to be likened to sci-fi some of the time.

I changed my screensaver at work today to read "Star Wars blows" in honor of Lucas not ceasing to fuck with Star Wars. I'm pretty pissed about this DVD release.

I usually hate all chick flicks too, Mielr.

Mielr, I had no idea you were a girl! ...girl here as well...and that Cosmo thing made me laugh. So effin' dumb. I had to tell this girl at work there was no such thing as Star Trak, or at least I knew she MEANT Star TREK. My friend at work was changing shirts in the hallway, and I noticed he had a Rebel Alliance tattoo, and told him so. His jaw just about hit the floor when I named the symbol without hesitation. He was like, "I never knew a girl who knew what that was!"

How George Lucas created the O-OT fanbase...
Time
Lucas could be belittling Star Wars on purpose. In interviews over the years when people bring up how great and mythic, and MEMORABLE the story and characters he would always say, "Oh the stories are not what will be remembered, but the TECHNOLOGY" -- something along those lines. It always took me aback when he said things like that. Of course he'd been pushing technology along all this time, but people truly loved the stories themselves...not so much anymore now that they really suck without other writers cleaning up his plots and dialogue. Go ahead Lucas, make your dream of technology being greater than a human story come true. Your stories suck now.

It has begun: StarWars.com to celebrate original films
Time
They keep harping on the fact that you can buy each of the three movies separately...How about selling the OOT and the SEs separately? Gee, that idea won't be entertained, cause then people would make a buying decision that would taint Lucas' built up vision for the movies. Morons.

George Lucas is appearing more and more to be like a Charles Foster Kane.

POLL: WORST ACTOR OR ACTRESS IN THE PT?
Time
LOL, at the Terrance Stamp story. Star Wars had heretofore been so popular people must've jumped at the opportunity to be in the prequels, then you get tales like that of Terrance Stamp...probably wished he could have been the furthest from that place during that moment. Lucas had to be freaking kidding. Too bad everyone knows he wasn't. That's even worse.
