STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Yep INVAR, this whole edit is like a wish fulfilled. Yes, there will still be little imperfections, but that's the humanity in it. That's what art has. It's not meant to scrub all inconsistencies. It's meant to entertain first and foremost....and this last Emperor hologram video did just that....as well as looking better than ever.

So I will let others navel gaze into oblivion. I just look forward to hearing updates and stills and finally, completion.

The one thing that makes the troopers looks really fake is when they have their helmets off. Placing a real head on a CG body just didn't work and the ones where they are fully CG their faces looks so fake. Why the hell didn't they just build a few costumes for these shots?

I'm hopefully going down the real-trooper route when i get to the PT. Also they won't be clones of Jango. Jango will have been hired to recruit the best mercenaries from all over the galaxy for the cloning process so there would be a variety of clones and you can have different voices, which would tie that into the OT where the stormtroopers don't all sound the same

ILM's Ben Snow, who supervised that portion of the film(Geonosis), asked Lucas again and again if he could build just one practical suit so they could use it for at least lighting reference on-set during filming.

But Lucas would have none of it.

Your decision to use practical suits is already more interesting than the blanket CG approach Lucas took in that particular situation.

And they never quite tracked the heads effectively to the suits as you mentioned. A prime example of vfx working against the success of the film.

About the RotJ change to Coruscant idea, why would Endor have to be changed?

You could keep Endor the same with the same mission but instead of blowing up the shield generator protecting the DS2 it's some big gun. Hell, it even looks like a gun!

Maybe that gun is some thing that worries the rebel fleet enough to keep the attack away until Han and co. disable it. Then the fleet could arrive and take on the Imperial fleet.

You could even conceivably keep some of the smae shots of the DS2 laser destroying the fleet ships, instead it comes from the generator/gun on Endor.

Then you just transfer Luke to Coruscant and have the Emperor's tower on Imperial city and have that throne room be HIS real throne room.

not to mention he's gonna redo ANH after ROTJ.....which is probably good cause I figure he'll need all the help he can get for the prequels

Well the prequels would likely require stuff beyond anything he's doing right now. So yeah, revisiting ANH and then doing RotJ will lay the groundwork for the very complex work needed to try and pull the prequels out of the morass.

Well this is a radical ideas thread. So we dont know now how to pull it off but video technology will catch up pretty quick.

Imagine if the first film had a more tranquil smaller coruscant. Like a small city with parks and open spaces, etc throughout. Then as the war prgoresses, people swarm into the capital to take refuge, huge housing programs are undertaken, and then city grows immensely as billions arrive from around the galaxy fleeing the war.

In fact in AOTC Anakin and Padme travel as refugees to Naboo(which should be changed to Alderaan).

Maybe refugees arrive on Coruscant and then are transferred to accepting worlds?

Available footage? No idea.
