How to capture HDCP-encrypted HDMI sources (Vudu, Netflix, Directv, Virgin Media, etc.)

It does, but tagged at 1080p24. I only made a short clip before returning it so I'm not sure if that causes a sync problem eventually. If it does you should still be able to remux to the correct frame rate.

Hum, interesting... Thank you for your reply! I guess if it's only "tagged" as 24fps, then it would indeed create a sync problem but should be easy to tag it back to 23.976. However, if it's somehow "blending frames" to get to those 24fps, that wouldn't be nice.

How to capture HDCP-encrypted HDMI sources (Vudu, Netflix, Directv, Virgin Media, etc.)

Hello everyone! Really glad to have found this thread which I now read twice.

I am looking for an external HDMI capture card, so this was an interesting read.

I was looking at the Skydigital SKY-CXHDMIU3 mentioned in the first post, which has a nice enough price and is able to do "lossless captures" with DD5.1.

Although, after thinking about it for a while, I'm not sure that in the end I want to have to deal with huge UT or Huffyuv files and reencode everything.

I then started looking at options like the "HD PVR 2 GE Plus" that seem to support AC3 audio as well. The limitation of 14Mbps seems "good enough" for me. Although it seems that it doesn't capture 1080p@23.976 which is what I was aiming at.

Are there any similar cards to (Hauppauge, eyeTV, AVerMedia) that do 1080p23.976 and AC3?

Thanks
