Wrong clone design in Revenge of the Sith?
Time

I am new to this site and really enjoying the work put into this place!
I have a very odd request. I was informed that there was a clone trooper with incorrect markings in the background of the scene where Commander Cody picks up Obi-Wan’s lightsaber. The scene was only in the theatrical version, according to my source, and was edited to be the correct trooper for the DVD release.

I have no real information beyond that, though the clone MAY be red instead of the correct 212th orange. but I am hoping that someone with the workprint or other theatrical version could check into that for me! I have gone over many of these forums, but couldn’t find an actual way to view those clips myself.

Also, as a general discussion point, I am wondering if anyone has spotted other clones with unique or incorrect armor markings? It makes me wonder if this may not have been the only clone removed/edited.

Thank you for any help you all can offer!

Revenge of the Sith Bootleg DVD from 2005? - (Not Backstroke of the West)

The version called “Star.Wars.Episode.III.Revenge.of.the.Sith.INTERNAL.DVDRip.XviD” has a .nfo creation date of 2005-06-04, which would be a few days before the version you have screen capped. The video framing/quality of the screencaps looks similar to the INTERNAL version which was a two .avi set. A few days later the variation : “Star.Wars.Episode.III.Revenge.of.the.Sith.INTERNAL.NTSC.DVDR” was released, and that’s my guess for the version you’ve got.

The INTERNAL variation was often identified as a DVDRip as the quality was superior to the CAMs which came out in the first month of the movies release. The official DVD didn’t come out till November, so not certain if they were starting to produce the DVDs and a copy leaked or the source of this variation was one of the digital theaters. The latter seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

The INTERNAL.DVDRip.XviD.nfo file explains it this way:
Quote : “We aren’t going to say where the source came from, for obvious reasons. BUT we will say this, it isn’t a TC. You can tell by the way the craft lands, the vibrations etc. It’s not a retail though, it ain’t far off.
Shouts out to Georgey boy.”

Maybe not the placee for this, but being extremely new here I am scouring these forums for anyway to actually view these versions of the film. I am looking for one specifc clone trooper that is said to be an incorrect color ONLY in the theatrical version and later corrected for DVD release. Is there any help you can provide in that regard?
