I solved this by eliminating the droid factory scene entirely. Now they go in and the next time you see them they’re captured, for me not seeing how outweighs the awfulness of the scene we got.
I am not familiar with his previous work but I am thrilled with how he handled the new Indiana Jones movie.
If that’s what he can do then by all means unleash him on Star Wars.
I read an interview with Walken where he said he loves to dance and manages to work some improv dance moves into every role he takes, so does this mean we’re going to get a dancing Emperor?
I just saw the new one and it is a really well done show, the director did a fine job with this and eschews the excesses of 2/3/4. Easily the second best one after the very first one and the level of quality in this over the three I mentioned, it’s just in another league. You want to see this one in a theater.

When it comes to your edits, I like the fact that Anakin knows Owen. I think I would preferably also cut Cliegg’s introduction, because I guess it would make sense that they’ve already met. Perhaps AI could make him say “Hello, son” or just “son” since I think he later says “Your mother’s dead, son”. Then he would still say that they’ve got a lot to talk about. I’m also a big fan of cutting the bar scene with Zam. Before I saw that clip, I don’t think it occured to me that it was even possible! 😉

I hadn’t thought about changing any of Cliegg’s lines…hmmm…perhaps…Someone in my comments pointed out that if they are actually brothers, Owen’s last name would be Skywalker and not Lars (which, of course, it is in ANH). I felt quite stupid after that was pointed out! lol
So, I’m thinking I might rework Anakin’s dialogue to mention his cousin Owen. That would work, right? Cousins?And yeah, the cutting of the bar scene: I still think it’s my favorite cut I discovered while playing around in editing.

The old Decipher Card Game had a card for ANH character that was identified as Vader’s sister. Let the arguing about cannon begin.
He could be on the moon and just at a different location. The shuttle landing is just that, a mode of transportation taking someone from one place to another. The point of origin of that trip is never articulated and really doesn’t need to be.

I am so glad you enjoyed it. The next season seems far away, estimated for a release around Autumn 2024 but that was before the WGA strike, so I’ll be happily re-watching this a couple of times until then.
I’ve been riding with this franchise since I was 12 back in '77.
Andor was fantastic.
If I have to wait a few extra months for more of it with the same quality level I don’t care.
I’ve already done lotsa waiting for more SW stuff. Couplea months is nothing.
Treat the creatives equitably and make another great season. Take your time.
Something that amazes me with all the tweaks to the OT is the scene in ANH where Vader is talking with Tarkin and he stops talking and then a few seconds later he is shaking his hand to accentuate what he is saying (but he is no longer talking).
The first time I saw Adywan’s Revisited I jumped to that scene to see if it was fixed.

When ever I was at Toys R Us (RIP) or Target and wander over to the Star Wars stuff I only see adult men shopping the stuff. I don’t think that I’ve seen a kid looking at Star Wars toys in literally years.

What is the source of the Mace Windu ginsu machine clip? Someone commented BOBF but I don’t remember that at all and suspect that the reference was to the alternate angle on the Boba Fett Hamlet shot.

I did the same way phase 3 did save for voice adjustment, worked aok for me. My cut keeps the establishing shot but cuts the entire elevator scene otherwise so YMMV.
Personally I think folks are overthinking adding this, the film is what is it. You add and watch it or you don’t.

I would love to see in S2 of Andor an attempt to assassinate someone like Tarkin, Krennic even Palpatine ala the Wolf’s Lair attempt on Hitler.
I am guessing via the absence of Palpy in most everything that he is this Howard Hughes style paranoid living in seclusion…which really doesn’t make much sense considering he is the Sith Lord of the day.
It would be nice to see a story arc that provides a reason for him to be living the way that he does.
IF he is living like a Howard Hughes paranoid can we at least have a scene of him shuffling around his office with Kleenex boxes for shoes?
David Lynch’s “Lost Highway” is a better example of how to handle the corruption of Anakin Skywalker by the dark side of the force than a mafia movie is.

Spread that Pershing stuff throughout the 1st two episodes, would make Mando zipping from world to world feel less like a taxi service and would give the Pershing storyline room to breathe.

What I would really like to see realized at some point is the idea that was developed but not used for The Force Awakens where there’s an Anakin force ghost that is conflicted and has light and dark side elements in conflict and kinda morphs around between these. It was in the making of book and I was always disappointed that it was never developed in ep 8 or 9, I think a really solid scene that would also connect the trilogies would have been to have Anakin’s force ghost have a little chat with Kylo Ren and basically tell him, “not in my name little fascist wannabe.”
The galaxy is allowed to celebrate the destruction of another death star & the death of Palpatine.
I know maybe not in his fanedit but really, ST or not, celebrating what appears at the time to be the defeat of this regime makes absolute sense.
