The Mandalorian Discussion Thread - * SPOILERS *
Time

The best strengths of this show are a) they are not over-explaining things and b) there’s some world building going on.
The weakness is that they are not letting it breathe enough. My opinion is they feel they have to do perceived damage control from the last two movies (not a criticism, I love 'em both) however this would have been improved if they had taken a long hard look at Twin Peaks The Return - give it space and time. Everything I’ve seen so far has been really good, but it has been rushed. Slow it the hell down a bit please.

Worst Ideas in Star Wars/Good Ideas that went Horribly Wrong
Time

One of the prequels problems was that Lucas kept introducing a new “main” villain every movie. What would have been wrong with Darth Maul as the main antagonist for the entire PT?

What’s wrong with Darth Maul is Dooku. They should have gone with Dooku from E1 straight through 3.
I realize that the Empire doesn’t exist yet but Maul as the apprentice runs counter to the xenophobia of the realized Empire and Palpy was the one behind all that so Maul doesn’t make sense at all.

Christopher Lee was a sadly wasted opportunity of quality; instead we were given Grievous in 3 and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom level garbage.

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

You all do realize that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, etc. are going to, I dunno, get old and die and stuff, right?

All this talk of sidelining OT characters, do you think these people are going to live forever and keep reprising these roles?
'cause three on my list have died already.

If you want more and new Star Wars you’re going to have to make your peace with new characters, new story lines, new actors, new stories.

Chronologically Lost HD (Remaster of Mike Maloney's edit) (Released)
Time

What are you doing concerning burnt in titles, credits, etc.? I left them in as the edit was primarily for my entertainment and I just ''watch around them" as I like to phrase it. The crash and post crash stuff is so much better when the storylines of the losties, talies and others are all integrated and playing out at the same time. It just seems cheap, oh, yeah, you’ve been watching this show about these people for a while now but HEY! there’s a bunch of people from the tail that survived. Let’s spend an hour talking about them and catch you up to speed, m’kay?
I think for me it’s episodes 10 & 11 that we get the crash, each one of mine ran about 2 hours and there’s 50 of them.

Are you integrating webisodes and deleted scenes? There’s a wiki with a timeline that is generally helpful for a project like this, my stumbling block on pass two was there is a scene in a later episode where Widmore is evicted from the island by Ben and I didn’t catch that, it’s just a quick little thing that I missed and…yeah, after months of work I’m done with this one as it is.

How are you handling the time lines in your chronological edit? I did a sd edit of this myself years ago, took two tries (pc died 4 seasons in on one try and no back up) and I cut it so Jack dies on the island, watches the plane fly overhead and then the entire alternate time line plays out as his near-death experience with the end being the group reunited (with all the scenes of him dying on the island excised as they were used for his island death scene).
