Hayden Christensen wins Razzie for ROTS
Time
Yeah I thought HC sucked too and a lot of the Padme conflict and turn scenes were ruined because he just didn't pull it off. As much as I loved ROTS (AOTC was the worst of the series) GL's writing was pretty bad.

At the same time though I think even Deniro would have a problem with playing the verse's worst villain as a young adult. All the while he is supposed to be this totally non-emotional, uber-jedi with all the baggage of being the "chosen one". Yet the audience already knows what he turns out to be so he has to show some conflict with his emotions even though he is not supposed to have any.

In any case, I think it would be a hell of a hard character to pull off.

No worries Greencapt, I had heard the SAAB was out on DVD recently but to be honest with you I have an excellent copy of all the episodes that I bought off e-bay about 4 years ago and that is what I had shared so I have never seen the release you are talking about. Its a great series and they did the same thing to it that they did to Firefly....it's just an all around shame.

Thanks for the info, I knew the Holiday specials were bootlegged but I didn't realize there were other avenues to get them. (I still give bootlegged copies of Space Above and Beyond to friends as well).

I know this is off topic but has anyone seen this Geordie version of SW they sell on e-bay. I didn't buy it, I was just wondering what the hell it was.

Amen MarioxB, I love the PT almost as much as the OT. ROTS is a masterpiece and well deserving of the SW name. ROTS is only surpassed by ANH. I will not buy into all this hatred of the PT and GL. I want the OOT on DVD as badly as anyone but I'm not going to bash the man because he hasn't done it yet. He's a freakin genius and does not derserve the disrespect he gets on this site.

By the way, in case you or anyone else here does not already know it, you can get the SW holiday special on e-bay for about $5.00. I just got a sweet VHS copy of the original ANH for $2.50 and the quality is fantastic.

From Invader Jenny
You've got to be sh*tting me. So you are telling me that "Romeo and Juliet" has gone through numerous changes, and that "Homer's Oddessy" is constantly changing to match the author's original vision (because lord knows, a classic can't stand the test of time). I guess "Beowulf" hasn't been the same since "Beowulf: The Special Edition" that came out in 1256 in midevil theaters everywhere.
Text

First, I would never compare Shakespeare or Homer to Lucas.

Second, these stories were more than likely not written over the course of 20+ years.

Third, how do you know that a group of people (like some on this site) from those days didn't shit all over Romeo and Juliet or The Oddessy or Beowulf and say that those stories weren't the way THEY liked them to be. That they didn't hold true to what they believed was the authors original vision.

Fourth, for all we know these stories were ten times better in the original drafts but the authors changed the endings to be more commercially pleasing.

Hey I can appreciate that, I really can. I hated TPM with such incredible passion that it wasn't until I saw how bad AOTC was that I learned to appreciate TPM and now TPM is probably my 2nd or 3rd fav of all 6. I guess I just appreciate the whole story now and can really enjoy them all.

I guess I'm just too old and to understand all the hatred and rancor (pun intended) spewed on the PT. Especially when I look at the film industry as a whole and the stories told by the film industry which are typically so bad they have to invent a new word for sucking.

OMG you people are harsh on the PT. I know I'm new on this site and have only read about a weeks worth of threads but I just can't see the reasoning for all the hatred for GL and the PT.

I want the OOT on DVD as badly as anyone--I turned 9 years old the same weekend ANH opened and I can PROUDLY say I have been a SW dork since that very weekend. I watched ANH 23 times at the theaters, I made the pilgrimage to CIII, I have an entire room of my house dedicated solely to SW.

I hated the changes in the SE, Jar Jar, virtually all of AOTC and the wooden HC performance in ROTS but I didn't hate those parts enough to ruin the entire PT.

How can you hate the PT as a whole when they gave us Qui-Gon (the coolest, wisest jedi IMO) and Mace Windu, Clone Troopers and all the badass lightsaber duels. Not to mention more insight to the most badass MF in the universe, Palpy.

It wasn't just hype that made the PT great, it was the story that made it great. And like any good story, it has to change, especially when it is written over the course of 20+ years.

Well I watched Serenity fro the first time this past weekend and I absolutely loved it. I had never seen the series but I heard (read) you guys talking about it so I gave it a try.

Other than the ship resembling a big chicken I really loved the show and I have the Firefly series coming in this week from netflix as a result of seeing the movie.

If the series is half as good as the movie I can't believe they took it off the air but these are the same assholes who took Space: Above and beyond off the air after only one season too. Anyone who knew that series knows how great it was and Fox killed it after only one series.

Yoda talking in OT vs PT, way different
Time
I did not know that was him, but now that you say his name I can see him doing that scene very clearly. I do like him and certinaly don't blame him.
I turned 9 the same weekend ANH came out and the one thing I truly loved about all the OT was that it had nothing to do with Earth and then BAM the PT had that scene. Like I said though I can appreciate it more now.

I agree with you, it's hard to compare the crap logic Yoda spils out in the PT vs the better, cooler logic in the OT. I think he was nuts after being "technically" alone after all that time.

I know I am trying to apply real world logic to him going ape-shit crazy after 20 years on Dagobah but like it ot not I think GL was genuinely trying to apply our world to the PT. I don't hate the PT (other than AOTC) but I hated TPM the first few times I saw it mostly because of that 2 headed sports announcer f*@cker at the pod race.

It was like GL was trying to bring our world into the SW and I hated him for it. But I realize now that maybe he is comparing our world to the PT (like with OT Yoda and PT Yoda) and I can accept the PT much more now that I look at it in that way.

This is my first post and I don't want to get my head bit off here, but don't you think that after being alone on an asshole of the universe planet for 20 years by yourself that you would talk differently than you did when you were in civilization.

I mean he held the most important job on the Coruscant (arguably) and then one day he's alone except for a couple visits from Luke for the rest of his life.

I hated most of Yoda's dialogue in the PT too (except "You must learn to let go of everything you fear to lose", that was pretty cool) but maybe he was supposed to talk more coversationally instead of the cool cryptic way he did in the OT.
