hi all

something that sticks out to me a little is the way window showing luke, leia, r2 & 3po is mapped onto the medical frigate at in the end sequence.
it seems to me that as the frigate turns away from the camera the angle of the interior is a little off as though it's not deep enough and we can still see r2 a bit after he should have disappeared behind the side wall.
no biggie but room for improvement i reckon.

jabba himself could turn round so he keeps facing han as he walks

obviously this would need a remodel of jabba which would be no bad thing in my eyes. if adys not using some kind of cgi jabba in rotj:r (which i doubt) the new model should be closer to rotj jabba, and remove him from tpm:r for good measure

just to point out the jawa that shoots R2 in epIV uses an ion weapon and it shoots blue so i think that would count as maximum level canon (this is just a screen grab from anh:r not adjusted by me)

when i first looked at your mock of the slug as it poked out of the asteroid i thought it was the chestburster from alien, but having looked at alilen tonight i see it's not - where did it come from? i like it so much i was thinking about making a short movie clip if poss

So that is not close enough for the Executor to lock onto them with a tractor beam?  Really?

it's not in range because the sd's own mass is blocking the line of sight from the tractor beam emitter and the falcon - imagine trying to look under your own chin without a mirror

but yeah i agree most imperial stormtroopers couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat

also anakin grew up in mos espa - the lars farm is near anchorhead which is nearer to mos eisley and who knows how far from mos espa

regarding vader not picking up on luke and leia - the force is not a completely open corridor into another persons mind, especially the strong mind of a person with latent force talent, as mentioned before leia did not know of vader being her father so he couldn't have read that from her anyway. when luke was on the MF on the death star his presence would have been masked by the probably stronger and certainly more familiar presence of obi-wan. by the time luke and vader are flying through the DS trench vader is beginning to get a handle on things

the biggest question for me is will anakin even know padme's pregnant in the revisited saga
that may be hard to avoid, but if padme survives in these edits then vader would have no reason to believe his unborn children died with her, thus making his not picking up something from luke and leia harder to buy

this is getting complicated

Also, doesn't not having Anakin in the suit conflict with Obi-Wan's line: "A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil..."?  How will you get around that?

you need to look at it from the point of view of a first time viewer

the viewer would know obi-wan isn't telling the truth anyway, what's he supposed to say "yeah luke, i killed your dad. you must come with me to alderaan"

they would assume obi-wan is passing the blame onto vader to cover his own tracks and make vader luke's no. 1 enemy

canon is dead, from a certain point of view

fanon is the only way to make sense of the star wars universe now
it has become so big and unwieldy that you must simply take what you are given and accept or reject bits and pieces of it to make it work for you. even if you only stick to so called g-level canon (the highest level i believe) it is full of contradictions.

it is as though the star wars story has been edited together from the evidence of many different sources that don't all agree with each other

ladies and gentleman of the jury, you must decide for yourself the truth, based on the evidence presented before you

certain (usually very small) aspects of ady's edits fly in the face of g-level canon - and that's ok, in fact to most of us here it's better than ok. it's great.

these are fan edits - ady decides what's in his fanon, the fact that so far he's sticking pretty close to g-level is his choice, and for the OT that has been a good choice for the vast majority of us. it certainly will be interesting to see where the PT goes. personally i hope quite a bit goes off canon

anyway the point is that george's opinion of what is canon is no longer all that relevant
your own opinion - your own fanon is all that should really matter

lightsabers are supposed to a technical marvel that have to be constructed using the force, and have an efficiency beyond what is capable with conventional engineering. this efficiency would not allow for wasting energy blazing light in all directions to cast reflections

i realise not emitting light this way would effectively mean lightsabers should be invisible - but let's face it that would suck big time - can you imagine! lol!

and people also think AT-AT lasers were changed FROM green for contrast reasons

i had a pretty strong opinion of how i see the probe droid/meteor incident
but once ady has made his feelings clear on any given subject it's time to let it go
