Idea & Help Wanted: Star Wars Dark Empire: The Movie
Time

i thought about having a go at something like this myself about a year ago

to be honest i just didn't have the time/determination to get it going - hat off to you if you manage it

anyway in my research i found a bit of software you may find useful called toonboom studio - it's based on flash animation but retooled and optimised for 2D peg based animation with 3D camera movements though multiple planes - you can cut out characters from scans and give them joints on their elbows, knees, etc. and semi auto lip syncs.

think south park and you'll be in the right area (not that your characters have to look like cartman - just move like him)

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

ady, i don't know if this has been mentioned before but if possible i'd love to see some signs of re-entry burn through luke's viewport as he plummets into degobah's atmosphere

focusspiller

that just looks so much better than the white IG88

on palpatines disfigurement, the ROTS novel certainly gave me the impression that he was masking himself

it's just a shame the makeup was so unrealistic - should have been much more subtle

i think in the end we will get a truely awesome revisited OT

the PT? well you can pollish a turd - but it will still be a turd

it's going to take something godlike to bring them into the same ballpark as the OT:R

Star Wars Prologue - Epic Prequel Edit (Released)
Time
i must confess that i've only seen bits and pieces of previous fan edits
ady's ANH:R seems to have inspired many to really push beyond what seemed reasonably possible

anti-matter: that jarjar removal is stunning!
i notice you said you were reducing him to an incidental character
i will be interested to see where and how you do use him
although given that you're making a 3in1 movie do we need any gunguns at all?

keep up the good work

ady

thank you so much for this edit, i wish i were a dentist so i could find a way to repay you.
also thanks to wmx and anyone else who helped ady with this.

i will be piffing the dvd as soon as it's released - let's get this mutha out there.

GL if you or any of your staff are reading this thread, this is the version that needs to be made 3D - make it happen, somehow

in fairness enough has been said on the severed arm shot
it's going to be changed - there's nothing left to say except let's wait and see
i agree with some constuctive criticisms of the edit, but i think once they've been mentioned let's not keep rehashing them over and over
i know this may seem hypocritical given the picture i posted a few minutes ago
- but my point was highlighting something that could be added given ady's already said he's redoing the shot, not a rehash of other people's objections to the flipper/han/thumb/gun/shadows

let's keep it fresh!
