I honestly don’t have a problem with the title for any Star Wars movie.
.
Star Wars: Alec Guinness
The Empire Strikes Back: Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher
Return of the Jedi: Mark Hamill
The Force Awakens: Harrison Ford and Daisy Ridley
Rogue One: Ben Mendelsohn
The Last Jedi: Mark Hamill and Adam Driver
Solo: Alden Ehrenreich
Exactly. And it’s situational humor. He wasn’t cracking a joke for the sake of it, he was trying to buy time for his X-wing. It’s something that’s in line with what his character would do.
Near perfect film.
I myself enjoy ROTJ a good deal, but man, does that movie misuse its characters. What happened to Han and Leia? So engaging and charismatic in ESB, and they’re so dull in this.
Han has gone from a scoundrel to an insecure shlub, and Leia, who used to be sassy and outspoken, doesn’t really have any character here at all.
Taking a break from this site. Too much hostility around here.
Not sure if this is the right thread for this question, but does anyone know if the Warner Premium Collection Blu-rays available over at HMV are region free? I’ve been eyeing a few of their releases for a while now, but I’m not sure if they’ll play on my US player.

The scene in Blade Runner where Deckard forces Rachael to make out with him. It’s problematic and deeply uncomfortable to sit through.
The Shining (1980)
What better way of starting the month of October than by revisiting one of my all-time favorite films. A masterpiece of atmosphere and tension, with excellent performances all around, particularly Nicholson’s, and a chilling, memorable score. My second favorite Kubrick, after 2001.

Technically, no, though one could argue the Rebel fanfare has become a musical motif for the Falcon.
To be fair, almost the entire musical cue that accompanies that scene in Solo is a rehash of previously existing material.
I don’t mind it much, because (1) Powell’s complete score has more than enough new themes/motifs to compensate, and (2) the music fits the scene well.
Haha, that’s awesome!

Really lovely piece of work. Might be Anderson’s most well rounded piece of work.

The Honest Trailer pretty much sums up my thoughts on the movie. Not bad, but very bland and forgettable.
