Phildesfr's Blu-Ray Complete Set

There’s a typo in the RO cover - it should read ‘A REBELLION BUILT ON HOPE’.

There should be a space between ROGUE ONE: and A Star Wars Story.

The STAR WARS cover should probably have four ellipses after ‘far, far away’.

On a related note, the two OT sequel covers also have periods after the taglines, whereas no other cover has this convention.

Other than that, beautiful work!

Thaks for the heads-up, the RO typos have been fixed, the periods are gone from ESB and ROTJ taglines, but I kept the 3 ellipses on SW, I’ll consider the 4-ellipses exclusive to the films’ crawls 😉.

The corrected files, pdfs and jpg, have been replaced in the mega share.

UPDATED POST: replaced the pics by corrected versions.

Hi everyone!

Here is the latest version of my blu-ray set, now complete with covers for the Prelogy, The Force Awakens and Rogue One (album here: http://imgur.com/a/xDfET)

Just like last time, I also provide PDFs versions, both printable and editable, and templates for the inserts, slipcovers, disc labels, as well as textless artworks and logos, which you can download from this mega.nz link, along with the .torrent file for my BD isos:

Looking for Blu Ray covers for I-III that include the theatrical posters on the front
Time

Hi everyone!

Incidentaly, I just finished designing the TFA and RO covers matching my despecialized OT ones, and also begun assembling covers for I, II, III.
I pondered for some time whether using unofficial title logos for TPM, AOTC and ROTS, but I eventually chose to keep true to the official logos (with the big Episode line), as it was the case for my OT.
I’ll be uploading this new set (Prelogy, Trilogy, TFA and RO) in a few days, with as much as possible of my EPS logo assets, so it can be of use to anyone designing their own set.
Cheers!

"Aunt Beru!" in TFA
Time

Hi everyone!

I’m not 100℅ sure about this, but it seems to me like I hear Luke’s call “Aunt Beru!”, from the burning homestead moment, mixed in with the Tie fighters sound, in “The Force Awakens”, during the Tie fighters attack on Jakku (30m57s on blu-ray time). This is during a front shot of Rey, second after being blown away with Finn by the Tie fighter’s blast.
Maybe I’m just imagining things. Does someone else hear this too?

It occurs to me that, since we share our covers around here, that we could benefit somewhat from a repository where we could share individual assets we used in our projects so that we can find them easily later.

Hi! You’re absolutely eight, btw my latest links for my blu-ray set contains à link to a “make-your-own” pack with logos, cleabed artworks, templates, and I will revise it with cleaner and more accurate logos, and more different artworks and post these assets here very soon

Groundhog Day - The short version (Released)
Time

Hello!

As a fan of Harold Ramis’ “Groundhog Day”, I often wondered what Phil Connors’ perfect day would look like for all the other characters, so I tried and made my edit of it (just for academic fun, this is clearly not an intended improvement of the film, and it’s only 30min long), keeping the first 10 and last 15 minutes of the film, and piecing together the rest of Phil’s perfect February 2nd, out of many moments of the film, put in apparent chronologic order of the day. Let me now what you think of it:

phildesfr - if Towne32’s new recolorization project is completed and becomes Despecialized SW 2.6 - would it be possible for you to use that in one of your BD iso files? I think many of us are patiently waiting for Harmy’s ESB 2.5 release so you can update ESB and then we’ll will be grabbing your iso files. Very nice work!

For my ISOs, I’ll stick to Harmy’s versions (and I’ll definitely update the ESB ISO with v2.5 when released, of course). But if you wish to make a blu-ray out of any other version, muxing a BD from an MKV with TsMuxer is exceedingly easy, choosing only the audio and subtitles tracks (with the only limitation of 64 tracks overall): http://www.videohelp.com/software/tsMuxeR

Phildesfr congrats for this project. Ann the covers look amaing !!
I was wondering if you have done any covers in the same style for the prequel films (and also maybe for the force awakens?)
Thanks

Hi ! No, I haven’t done anything of the kind for the Prequels (I’m currently trying to live under the impression that these films don’t exist), but I think the only catch is the limited options of official artworks and title-logos, as compared with the OT. But I may pull something together in the near future, and for TFA also.

  • the editable AIs editable set
  • a “make your own set” package containing the logos, fonts, cover templates and my cleaned artworks

I want to use this artwork once v3.0 of the Despecialized trilogy is finished. Do you plan on making new versions with updated info to match the v3.0 specifications?

Also, I found a couple errors on the covers that I thought I should tell you about. Sorry if I sound nitpicky, I really don’t mind the errors.

  • At the bottom of the SW and ESB covers, it says “Acadely” instead of “Academy”
  • The ROTJ cover says “RETURN OF THE JEDI take the Star Wars Trilogy…”

Thanks again for this awesome artwork.

Thanks for the pointers, it will be corrected in the next issues. The specs will also be updated when new versions of the despecialized trilogy are released, too

@phildesfr Thanks for all your work! I have some questions though. First, are your .iso 's exact copies of Harmy’s DE’s but with a Blu-Ray menu? Also what are the DVD covers on the far left of your pictures in the first post for? Another thing, are you every going to create ones cases for the prequel trilogy? Last but not least, why would one want to get A4 prints of the covers? When are those applicable? Thanks again!

Hello!

  • The ISOs are BD-structures without menus (I gave up trying to learn how to create these), the films play right on insertion, and the bonus features are available as rom content. The ISOs are made from Harmy’s latest versions: Star Wars 2.5, Empire 2.0 and Jedi workprint 2.0 (I only blanked out the “workprint” disclaimer and timecode). I will update these ISOs with evry significant new version from Harmy, as we can expect in some months, at least as definitive Jedi 2.0.
  • On my first post, the covers on the far left of the pictures are slipcovers for the blu-rays.
  • I’m not currently planning on making a matching set for the Prelogy, but maybe someday.
  • I added A4 versions of the slipcovers print files, because the 1-piece print file of the slipcovers require bigger sheets than A4, which many printers can’t handle.

These are really nice covers, great job! 😃 i have a request, could you release extra versions of these covers without the despecialized edition writing on the front and spines? also an alternative to the first SW cover with the posters swapped around would be good.

Hi Kingherb,

I had several request for many different variations on the covers, and I would take too much time to create each version, but maybe I’ll do an alternative versions based on the most requested modifications, or post an editable .ai version

OUTDATED POST, DEAD LINK, LATEST LINKS IN FIRST POST

Hi everybody !

SOme of you asked me for an A4-version of the slipcovers print file, so here it is :

https://mega.nz/#!Yt0iSD7D!H3TUTewn3FZQ5GkdY1zwhqS10HELLdsb1kKAa02SEMY

The slipcovers are now in 2 parts, back and front, so there’s a bit more of creasing, cutting and pasting to do, but it’s printable on most printers now.

For the bd ISOs, I tried hosting them on mega, but my upload rate was dramatically low, so let’s try sharing those via a torrent, let me know if it works :

OUTDATED POST, DEAD LINK, LATEST LINKS IN FIRST POST

Hi everybody !

I took some time at it, but here’s at last an updated version of the print files of my bly-ray set :

https://mega.nz/#!koMFCSpa!w0F4Sy4z6zx4o1BiakIw-KzIs_QczMaDAXr6r9urYaI

I have updated the specs list to fit with my own mkv-to-bd muxing, based on Harmy’s latest MVVs available :
2.5 for Star Wars, 2.0 for Empire, and the 2.0 workprint of Return, to which I added French and Italian audio tracks and chapters list from my GOUT dvds. I added as much of the Threepio Project subtitles as possible, and skipped a few audio tracks because of the limited numbers of tracks Ts-muxer allows in a BD structure, for some reason.
I can send you a link to my ROTJ mkv with these additional tracks, if required.

I created 3 ready-to-burn blu-ray ISOs, with some bonus materials as rom content, would anyone want them, and if so, would you recommend a fast and reliable file-hosting platform for about 70gb ?

The slipcovers are not easy to print, because of their size, they won't fit in a Letter or A4 format.

My solution (rather costly) was to use A3+ (13x19 inches) photo paper sheets. In the 19" side, I cut 2 13x8 inches (33x20 cm)  stripes, which are long enough for the slipcovers.

I recommend you use the thickest paper you can fin, at least 300g/m², to obtain a rigid enough slipcover.

I'd also recommend great caution if you're using a glossy finish photo paper, because it will easily be smeared when handled, and be very fragile when cut and creased, however the color will look deep and bright on it.

Here is a link on FileHosting.org where you can download the pdf print files for this blu-ray set: the 3 slipcovers, the 3 covers, with 2 sides to print (I added McQuarrie paintings with a chapters list as inside art for the cover), and the 3 disc labels.

RE-UPDTATED POST The latest version of my set, now incmuding the Prelogy, TFA and Rogue One is available in this thread: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Phildesfrs-Blu-Ray-Complete-Set/id/56080

UPDATED POST ! Here is the latest version of my set, I removed the “despecialized edition” label, as many users on this forum asked for, updated the audio and subs options, especially for ROTJ on account of the release of v2.5. Here’s how it looks now :

http://s14.postimg.org/dtj5ht229/DISPLAY_slipcovers.jpg
http://s14.postimg.org/i1dxqk3ht/DISPLAY_cases.jpg
http://s14.postimg.org/uoyagt7sh/DISPLAY_discs.jpg

http://s14.postimg.org/l0pfrf2cx/DISPLAY_SW.jpg
http://s14.postimg.org/sferjso8h/DISPLAY_ESB.jpg
http://s14.postimg.org/gp0u2evg1/DISPLAY_ROTJ.jpg

For some reason, the blu-ray muxing is limited to 64 tracks (video, audio and subs), so I chose to exclude the russian voiceover audio track and some subs from Project Threepio, and keep “only” 3 english audio tracks for each film: 5.1 and 2.0 DTS-HD and 1993 LD DD, hoping to satisfy as much the purists as well as world-wide fans.

Here’s a link to a .txt of all the download links you may need:

  • the directions to download the Blu-ray ISOs
  • the printable PDFs of the blu-ray set
  • the editable AIs file of the blu-ray set
  • the templates, logos and cleaned artworks to design your own blu-ray set

http://mega.nz/#!owdRzYaQ!AkwyN6q54h9rmcl3oSNHXZ-Gw5xHb28S_zzOEuZaM64

I’ll be updating the ESB ISO as soon as Empire despecialized v2.5 is released, and in the meantime, I’ll also try to get my hands on the Team Negative 1 35mm restored version, and maybe mux a blu-ray out of it.

I’d also like to apologize for my very poor response rate on this forum, I’m just very not used to this kind of web communication and keeping up-to-date on the boards, but I try to take into account everything that’s being written here.

Cheers, and enjoy !
