Discussion: What Star Wars art or posters do you have on your wall? (or would you like?)

I’ve got to finally get around to obtaining a copy of this up for the office (I much prefer the landscape version than the upright portrait version):-

^ It appeared in Rolling Stone magazine as an advert for the film, way back when…

Though I’ll probably end up settling for a more readily available and colour version below:-

I like that rolling Stones Magazine version What would want for me to it off your hands? i might be willing to buy it

Well I just bought a one sheet 27x 39 SW ANH poster “Style D” George Lucas Edition off of Amazon and bought a frame separate to go around it. Finding the correct SW poster that looks good on for a plain white wall with nothing else on it was kind of chore to set the best decorative merchandise. More of them will be coming. I saw a TESB Teaser A style with only Vader Helmut over stars background but think its too dark. So ill look for one a little lighter like special edition one style “C” it hink It is? I use to have all the SW original trilogy posters on my walls along with other Sci Fi posters from other sci-fi movies as well. Which one do you have and is your favorite?

YES! they did have a high quality version that was out on dvd and vhs i had the dvd versions with both original and the new digitally made versions on each disc in the early 2000s and subsiquently then I lost them in storage place oh boy was I angry and now i cant get them back. Does anyone have any copies of those original digital home releases out here?

Are you sure it wasn’t a bootleg? Unless you’re talking about the 2004 Special Editions which have even more changes than the 1997 versions. Because there WERE bootleg DVDs of the 1997 SE’s that existed before Lucasfilm released them officially. The actual 1997 versions were never officially released on DVD.

You know you mos.likely correct cause I did buy them for myself in the 2000s at a Best Buy home electronics store here in America but the dvds did have both versions of the trilogy on each dvd though. Sure wish I had the dvds these days it would surely help in deciding which version I liked best even though I didnt really like the add with digital versions as long as I came with TESB original version on it My Favorite of the original theatrical trilogy version.

You’re talking about the Limited Edition 2006 DVD release. If you look hard enough you can find copies of them for sale for a decent price. Last weekend, I found Empire at a used video store in my area for $3!

Yes probably correct. I know what you about finding amazing deals on old great videos I once find AKIRA the anime at an old comic shop. maybe I can find the trilogy at place like that?

Anyone else think Empire Strikes Back's Special Edition is actually better than the Theatrical Cut?
Time

To me as you have stated the “Bring my shuttle” being replaced did bothered me as well however as an added quick shot of the falcon at cloud city that was a little better than the original shot of the falcon just landing I like the “falcon flyover” of cloud city was a nice touch added to the film. It kinda gives you o lets you know and understand the scope of how big Cloud Cloud really is and where the Falcon was heading and going to land at.

Despecialized or the Special Editions; Which do you prefer - and why?
Time

Well to me I would have to say the first original theatrical trilogy versions that came out on vhs or dvd the picture and colours was grainy and dull but to me I adds to the retro feel of the films like when they first cam out. I NOT REALLY a fan of all these digital reworking of the original trilogy like how the prequels where made with too much digital seen even Mark Hamill had said that its a different type of non connectedness with the character that you dialogue with. I Agree with him completely.

How bad is the crop of the 2019 master of Empire Strikes Back compared to other releases?
Time

Hi original trilogy fan here. the original trilogy aspect ratio was 1.233.1 or 2.31.1 that was the original super widescreen theatre version it was amazing. it was like the movie screen surrounded the patrons I WAS THERE when the films originally came out. Now you have to see on a large flat screen tv that is 16.9 tha yo have yo watch with crop bars of the original anamorphic film expanded (no negative film is use anymore these days) now its all digitally filmed.

Time

First WHY?! would you want to sell those are a rare find AND prize but if you REALLY want to sell some of those items I would take the 8mm film and the poster if it is the original movie poster itself. Second if you really want to sell ill mabe go for the mylar poster and press kit.

If you had to keep one Special Edition change…?
Time

suspiciouscoffee said:

Let’s say Disney is going to release something close to OUT but there’s a contract clause with Lucas or some bs requiring them to keep at least one SE change. This, of course, would never happen. However, if this hypothetical situation were real, which SE change would you be the least offended by if they kept it?

TL;DR - which change do you hate the least?

Personally, I pick the Cloud City windows.
