[fill in the blank] Just Died!
Time

They are true mate - a few visits to online biographies on him, and some articles such as these will point you in the right direction:-

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/dec/06/conservative-party-uncomfortable-nelson-mandela

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/camerons-freebie-to-apartheid-south-africa-1674367.html

Though it probably says more about the Tory Party - and the type of people they champion to elect him as their leader.

As for being PM - we are currently in a coalition Govt - the Tories and the LibDems are 'running' the country. He didn't get enough votes to win outright.

Hopefully he'll get even less votes next time at the Election - the LibDems certainly will.

Sadly we are in the age of PR and spin, the demonisation of the poor, weak and working classes - and those that speaks up for them - all whilst the rich pay in less each year for the rest of us to pick the slack. 'Divide and conquer'.

[fill in the blank] Just Died!
Time

Politics is just a part of it - but more importantly this was people's lives she contributed to destroying - sometimes literally.

Amongst her many other crimes, she is complicit in the deaths of 96 people at a football game - and complicit in their families and loved ones not seeing justice - let alone a full and proper inquest - and following coverup involving the police, ambulance service, FA, Sheffield Wednesday FC, Sheffield Council, the Coroner, the Judiciary, the press, and the Govt of the day itself - including Thatcher - for 24 years come Monday.

Not to mention her backing - militarily backing & training Pol Pot & the Khmer Rouge where a quarter of the population were killed, and General Suharto - who killed 100,000s in East Timor, and General Pinochet - who had overthrown the democratically elected president Allende in Chile.

She branded Nelson Mandela a terrorist - and supported the Apartheid Govt in South Africa, also opposing sanctions against them while her some members of family profited from deals with them.

I could go on, but I think you may be getting a picture...

I'm not a hypocrite - I loathed the bitch when she was alive - and I still loathe her now she's dead.

The 'politics' of it be damned - the people involved matter more.

GoldenEye 007 Wii-make (NOW "RELOADED" for 360 and PS3)
Time

Good to see modern version (improved framerate but retaining the graphics and feel of the N64 version) of GoldenEye on the pc:-

GoldenEye X - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlz1X0k1ups

GoldenEye Source - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBiaJv1Zruw&feature=related

Strangely, I prefer an afternoon completing game on the 007 levels on the N64 version than playing the new Wii version - even with the Wii online play - the original just has that more addictive gameplay and replay factor.

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)
Time

It's been a couple of years since I've watched any of the Prequels - though I saw Balance Of The Force up on youtube yesterday - loved the new subtitle track - thought it gave a more menacing threat from the Nemoidians, Battle Droids and made JarJar a lot more tolerable.

Looking forward to your Episode III Edit (and your final Ep II Edit too :))

Which version/release of the Star Wars movies do you watch and why?
Time

Love watching the ADigitalMan versions - the 2 MagnoliaFan Edit prequels are always worth a watch as they show just what can be done to change a film for the better - or give it a different point of view... ;)

(I hope the Ep3 MagnoliaFan Edit will be up there with the previous releases - looking forward to seeing it if/when it comes out)

The TR47, Cowclops, Gonzo, Editous, Moth3r PAL, EditDroid and OCP sets all raise many a smile as they were amongst the first sets on here all those many years ago...

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Is this the version where a (soon old enough) Ewan McGregor has been superimposed over all the scenes in which Sir Alec Guinness appeared in the Original Trilogy?

Or do we have to wait a few more years and watch even more differing versions of the films before Lucas can realise his 'true vision' for his films?

(half jokingly - I wouldn't put it past him...)

looks a very promising game for the wii - and we could do with some more quality shooters, however my ageing cynical brain  is preparing me for yet another sub-standard 007 cash-in (and playing Rogue Agent - shudders) on the standard bearer that was Rare's Goldeneye on the N64...

wow... didn't realise it's been 13 years.

Hope the new wii TimeSplitters 4 game turns out well too :)

Classic Edition: Return of the Jedi by Ocpmovie (Released)
Time

It’s been a long time…

Anyone know where I can find a copy of this on dvd?

and what happened to ocp?

Other than selling fanedits and being banned?

Google “Orange Cow Productions” if you must know.

Yeah, I’ve found the “Banning of OCPMovie” thread on here which explains it all. He broke the ‘golden rule’ on here, and endangered the fan community with his actions, so he got what he deserved.

I forgot about ocpmovie was the one who would crap on everyone else’s projects and tell them they were wasting their time. But he was also more than happy to still sell everyone else’s projects on his “available projects list” for exorbitant amounts of money.

And since then adywan’s post that ocpmovie is still selling his and other’s fan projects - even some 4/5 years on after claiming he was “living out of in car” (yet he posted he was living in his apartment, and the address to send the money to never changed?).

Loved that Leoben basically crapped himself when he found out what (has) happened to Starbuck...

Loved Adama's "Sit down, Cylon!" line - some great acting from everyone yet Adama and Tigh really excelled.

Some serous questions need answering...

how did the Final 5 regenerate? reach Earth, get together, who built the skinjobs, why/how do the mechanicals know not engage the 5 in battle, who is Starbuck,

what is everyone going to do now?

where is Cavill and the other cylons?

so many, many more...

some explaining on the timeline of events would be great - espeically with regards to the 13th tribe leaving the colonies to find Earth (I thought clyons were only around for about 60 years - hence the 1st cylon war 50 years ago)...

my mind is too frakked up with so many questions, thoughts and ideas - that was a damn fine piece of tv!

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Thread
Time

yesterday's episode played out well - some really interesting developments with the characters (especially the pressure and expectation on John), as well as the link and importance and role of the doctor. Lots of shades of grey with more questions being asked too.

Hopefully the previous ep and this one is a sign this season is really kicking in - can't wait for next week's ep.

Plus, the netire season has been given the ok by Fox (seems TSSC's popularity on Tivo, online, dvd-ding and whatever else has contributed to it too?):-

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Thread
Time

An extra 2 episodes have been orderd by Fox to follow on to this season's initial 13. Hopefully the rest of the back 9 episodes will come soon.

Fox has also stated it is aware of the online popularity of the show (it temporarily crashed the Fox server earlier this week).

Disappointing there is no show for 2 weeks - though hopefully it'll pick up right where it left off :)

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Thread
Time

another absorobing ep of TSCC last night :)

Brian Austin Green has turned out to be a very promising actor (last thing I saw him in was the dreaded 90201 show) - his scenes lifted the episode even further, and a good revelation at the end too. More flashback stuff is always welcome - especially when it's executed well and adds to the script.

Nice takedown of the T888 too!

Still think Agent Ellison needs more screen time - but like that they are building his part in the story up - most intriguing...

I am now in fear of what the Manson-nator can do to people as well ;)

The Force Unleashed is true to the F.U. part
Time

Pretty much enjoyed the game (on the Wii) - though it's pretty lame that you can't skip the cut-scenes or go back to a previous level to search for holocrons, hilts, health and sabre crystals etc without playing the whole game again.

Some of the voice acting was a bit bleh, as was the script - yet nothing too bad compared to some other games with a lot of cutscenes and dialogue.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Thread
Time

I enjoyed it - it does indeed feel that SkyNet has sent many Terminators back to the past - and I do hope we get some sort of explanation from Reese or Cameron as to why and how...

Thought Sumer Glua did a top piece of acting when she was about to 'die' - really felt her desire to want to live - which also opens up questions to just how advanced or different she is from other Terminators...

The introduction of the new Terminator will make me think twice when at the urinal in the future ;)

Very interesting to see events unfold between Cromartie and FBI Agent Ellison.

Looking forward to next week to see what happens next...

^ be brave and do not click it - I was weak and could not resist, and now bemoan the fact I have no time machine to travel forward into the future to watch what seems like a seriously great ep... Doh!
