After seeing Movealong’s excellent fan edits of the original Star Wars & Empire (painstakingly editing the film footage to sync with the audio of the original LPs), has anyone thought of doing the same for the Indy films? (I’m afraid the technical ability is a little beyond me)
Like the Star wars LPs, I owned, and played and practically wore out my records of Raiders & IJ&ToD. This being the days before videos, they were the only way of reliving the film- I used to play them non stop while reading the storybooks. They’ll forever be imprinted in the memory!
The Raiders is the odd one out in that it hasn’t got any narration- simply a potted version of the dialogue, score and special effects, allowing the imagination to really go to town. Excellently produced, I believe it won a Grammy for best spoken word record.
Indy & ToD Lp did have narration (Chuck Riley, being the same narrator as Return of the Jedi), while being cheesy and sounding VERY American (to a young lad growing up in the UK), it was nevertheless great fun. I still own all of them, and could never bear to get rid of them.
