Star Wars Holiday Special Documentary
Time

The Star Wars Holiday Special was the first piece of Star Wars media I saw. It is an important piece in the saga. The appeal of The Empire Strikes Back partly stems from the perceived flaws of the Holiday Special. The Library of Congress has begun a push to get the Holiday Special in their collection. Focusing on those upset about it seems like a missed opportunity.

In the last 5+ years a university student had started work on a SWHS documentary, have you spoken with them? Bruce Vilanch in some podcasts/blogs has talked about it.

May 2004 Be With You
Time

To support George Lucas’ desires for his Star Wars vision be remembered (as the 2004 set was made and marketed to do) please refrain from communicating any non-2004 Star Wars talk between the dates of the original movies release, May 25th, and the release of the 2004 DVD set, September 21st.
Websites and forums can go offline for this duration to support the cause. I recommend that the OriginalTrilogy.com deeply consider, so that they do not look like they do not support creator’s rights.

Language variations to the opening crawl and credits would expand your list. German, French, Russian, etc.

Is a feature which can be used to identify variations. The fact that prior to 1997 they appear in some version, are lessened in others and do not appear in another group, shows there could possibly have been different ‘masters’ for prints vs home media releases.

Theater Performance Preservations
Time

From 2011-01-21 to 2016-08-09, the Theatrical Performance Preservations mentioned in this thread sat on a public server for those that made the connection. In that time, zero complaints were filed, either with the domain hosting service or the search engines which indexed those files. No one wrote to say thank you. This was a test to show that this type of content is culturally irrelevant, a bizarre form of orphaned work or abandonware, considering the time and place this experiment took place. Society, it could be said, agreed in this context. The files would have sat for a longer period of time, but the domain hosting service revised their terms of service. Unlimited plans of the past are now being restricted with different clauses so that people can be rebilled as they migrate to cloud services.

OT Special Editions to have USA Roadshow Summer '16
Time

According to: Shane Mendez ‏@ShaneMendez
Guy just offered to run home and grab his LaserDisc copies
&
A few people complaining that Alamo Drafthouse is screening the 2011 Special Editions of Star Wars. Clearly advertised…

I called 3 of the theaters and asked if they knew and only one was able to say it was being shown digitally (the equipment provided by Alamo). The best response to if “they were showing the movies on film or digital” they responded that “it was going to be shown on the screen”.

OT Special Editions to have USA Roadshow Summer '16
Time

It is good they are acknowledging the variations to these films, even if they continue to ignore the later revisions.
The copyright status of all Special Editions releases have been retro-active to the 1997 theatrical release, according to the credits. So most likely they will be showing the BR or whatever propped up version is their now current.

Time

A more expansive list of Force Awakens trailers and TV spots:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/3swqzo/up_to_date_list_of_all_trailers_tv_spots_and/

There are even more than this. The above list stopped updating around the release of the movie, there were a series of trailers specific to post release which are noteworthy, talking about critical aclaim and audience reaction. Also if you visit official Star Wars language sites in youtube, you get many of the trailers in multiple languages and ones only released in that region.

And then there are languages released through other organization: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAqdhlmG3cU (Hindi)
