I’m surprised nobody here has tried doing a mockup of her conversation with Luke, and only one person did a mockup of her confrontation with Palpatine.
I think RogueLeader’s mockup of the hanger scene is the best one, and I think the Force bond duel in Ascendant is fine the way it is.

Oh wow! That is really good. I’m still fine with not using it. Petrovelly did an incredible job there, but it does look a bit too video game looking to me.
How’s the progress on Rey’s eyes?
It’s absolutely going to come down to the crackly saber footage. The rest of it will be tied up by that point.
Awesome! Since a plugin for the effect was released. I imagine it shouldn’t take long to get done. Who knows, V2 could be released this November like V1 was last year.
So are we around 95% done on V2? I know the only things left are touching up on Luke’s ghost and finishing the crackly saber shots. Poppasketti and RogueLeader are working on those, correct? Sorry that it seems like I haven’t been paying attention lately, I’ve been busy working on my own fan projects.

It’s been almost a month. How many chapters of the half blood Prince have you gotten so far?
Unfortunately not much at the moment. I’ve also been busy working on my other projects as well, mainly the Superman ones. Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows will obviously still come out, but I want to also pace myself to not burn myself out or get bored with the project.
I just noticed that Dat_SW_Guy finished his Mos Eisley mockup, I think.
This is turning out to be pretty spectacular! Sorry if it doesn’t seem like I’m contributing too much lately, I’m just eager to see V2 together.

I think I may also need someone to do some VFX to digitally re-color Brandon Routh’s eyes from brown to blue in a few shots, since it seems they either decided or forgot to put his contacts in at some points.
I do have Chase Adams’ Darth Nihlus shot saved before it got taken down.
I believe if you listen closely, you can hear Anakin’s saber ignite faintly in the original audio.
I’m planning on TLJ, but not on TROS. Which might be ironic seeing how this edit ties in so well with Rey Palpatine, but it was originally intended merely to give Rey a more conflicted edge. With all due respect to TROS edits, the movie remains unsalvageable to me.
Understandable. I felt the same way until the community on this site did some incredible work for Hal’s edit.

Interesting ideas, but it seems it’d be a little too much to pull off with merely audio changes. However, I think a ‘minimal changes needed to make Rey remain a non-Palpatine’ would probably be the way to go for the alternate cut of Ascendant.
What do you think of the sample clip someone did of the hanger scene where Kylo Ren tells her she will kill Palpatine and take the throne. Essentially, Palpatine wants her dead because he sees her as a dangerous threat to overrule him.
One thing I will say about Rey’s Sith eyes in this edit is that I feel they look a bit faded and not quite as apparent. I feel that they could be a bit brighter, kinda like how they appeared on Anakin in that one shot in Revenge of the Sith.
Also, I’m curious. Will you also be doing edits of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, Nev?
What about Luke’s haircut?
I’ve done a final pass on the color in the timeline so it looks fairly consistent to me. Sorry I haven’t updated the mockup, but I wanted to save the final version for the release 😃

I think some slight color correction on Han’s skin tones may be needed for the outside cockpit shot. The coloring and compositing does seem a tad bit off there to me.
