Wonder Woman: The Amazonian Warrior (Planned Project)
Time

This will be the first of my fan edits of the DC Extended Universe.

Wonder Woman was a very good comic book film, and I love how much of a fan Patty Jenkins is of Richard Donner’s work on Superman. However, the film isn’t exactly perfect, and could be tightened up a bit or adjusted in some places. There are times where the film can lose focus in certain scenes and go a bit too far in other areas. The main highlight is Diana becoming the Amazonian warrior and her relationship with Steve Trevor. The climax does fall victim to the typical formula many comic book films fall into, but overall, very good.

I present my fan edit of the first Wonder Woman film to help the film stand on it’s own, while also being the starting point for my series of current DC fan edits.

Color corrected the entire film.

Removed the opening monologue and sequence of Diana receiving her World War I picture in Paris. The film now opens with the shot of Earth zooming into Themyscira, beginning with Diana watching the Amazonian warriors train.

Replaced a shot of Diana cocking her head.

Removed an awkward shot of Diana feeling her jaw.

Removed Diana’s first, “I’m sorry.”

Removed the German soldier’s line, “Where did this fog come from?”

Cut the German soldier looking back after encountering the glamour.

Trimmed Diana and Steve starring at one another, as well as Steve’s, “Wow.”

Removed Steve’s line, “They have guns, right?”

Removed the fast zoom shot of Antiope’s arrow hitting a German soldier.

Trimmed away most of the unnecessary slow motion moments during the action sequences.

Cut Steve saying the lasso of truth is hot.

Removed Steve calling Maru a psychopath.

Removed Steve narrating over him thinking of a plan.

Removed Steve grabbing Maru’s book.

Removed Diana’s nurse’s, “Strange.”

Removed Diana asking Steve if he’s a typical example of his sex, along with his response.

Removed Diana asking what a watch is.

Trimmed Diana and Steve looking around and him asking if he can ask her some questions.

Removed Diana making eye contact with the animal.

Removed Diana mentioning she wants to fight like her mother once did in her conversation with Hippolyta.

Removed Hippolyta fearing that Ares will find Diana.

Added the extended bit where Steve lists all the wars occurring during World War I. Also used the alternate take of Steve asking about Ares and extended bit of Steve’s disbelief of Diana’s words.

Removed Ludendorff shooting his subordinate.

Removed Maru’s, “To restore your strength.”

Moved the brief scene of Ludendorff and Maru testing the poison on the gas mask afterwards.

Removed the brief bit about Diana asking about hand holding.

Added Etta’s extended line when describing her role as a secretary to Diana.

Added the extended bit of Diana noticing the outfit to be a fur coat.

Added the extended bit of Diana tearing the clothes she’s trying on.

Trimmed away Etta watching Diana and Steve walk down the street.

Removed Steve’s “bad guy convention” line.

Adjusted Diana translating Maru’s journal to have her say, “It’s a formula… hydrogen-based gas.”

Cut the second time Diana tells the cowardly General that he should be ashamed.

Added an extended bit to Diana and Steve’s conversation outside the intelligence.

Removed the shot of Charlie giving a cartoony look after getting punched.

Removed Sameer’s line, “I’m both frightened and aroused.”

Removed Etta muttering Sir Patrick’s name under her breath.

Added a brief scene of Diana watching the puppet show from the train.

Removed Diana’s line, “The gas will kill everybody.”

Trimmed Ludendorff and Maru gassing the German commanders.

Added the deleted scene of the group walking towards the battlefield.

Made a slight trim to the beginning of a shot with Steve backing away from Diana.

Removed Diana remarking how close Steve is when dancing.

Removed the scene of Diana and Steve kissing in the hotel.

Trimmed away Steve asking Maru about her project when flirting with her.

Removed Diana’s line, “Who’s there?”

Removed the shot of Diana reaching for her sword, cutting to the rest of her conversation with Sir Patrick

Cut Sir Patrick telling Diana that she is the Godkiller.

Steve and the group’s scenes are slightly pushed back.

Trimmed Sir Patrick’s exposition, as well as the flashbacks. Now it comes off as if he is trying to trick Diana.

Cut Sir Patrick’s line, “I don’t want to fight you. But if I must…”

Removed Ares’ line, “Let’s see what kind of God you really are.”

Removed Ares’ line, “You will help me destroy them, Diana… or you will die.”

Removed the shot of both Diana and Ares floating.

Moved the group destroying the munitions building prior to Steve’s death to make it appear he is looking back at that.

Removed Diana’s, “Goodbye, Brother.”

Trimmed away the soldiers becoming friends, cutting to the end of the war.

Trimmed Diana’s closing narration, with the final shot of the film being the photograph.

Added an end title screen, taken from the trailer, while adding the edit’s subtitle.

Added an fan editor’s credit to the ending.

Removed the second title logo.

Changed the music for the rolling credits so there are no vocals.

Added the post-credit scene in the pub setting up the Mother Boxes.

https://youtu.be/pEKA6rmVfW8. And when you get to the epilogue 19 years later at the end you use the music at the end of this video. I just like that this video sounds a little bit more high pitched and has a little bit more feel to it.

The reason as to why the audio is high pitched in that video is because it is taken from a UK DVD. In Europe, the audio mixing has a slightly higher pitch than it does in America. I know what you mean, though, as I used to kind of have a liking for it too, strangely enough.

The unused material would probably expose the film’s rushed development and lack of direction.

I definitely think it’s this. There are probably deleted scenes that contradict the finished story, as opposed to most Star Wars deleted scenes that were just cut content or alternate versions of the same story.

Like, remember the Finn vs Phasma alternate take that was deleted in TLJ? Imagine that, but Rose gets killed by Phasma, or maybe Phasma joins the Resistance. The fanbase would freak out and spend the rest of time complaining about missed opportunities (you know, moreso than we already do).

True, but we know that they had to have shot a legit Force ghost sequence.

While I don’t dislike Spider-Man 3, it certainly is not all that great and is a real mess in terms of its story and plot. It feels too unfocused and there are too many subplots that are either unnecessary, or gets in the way.

Nah, the ridiculous clusterfuck of plot threads is what makes it so entertaining.

The majority of humor involving Emo Peter have been removed to come across as being serious.

Why must you suck all the fun out of this film?

But you do you. This edit doesn’t sound like it’s for me, and that’s okay.

Hey, everyone has their own views.

I won’t deny that the Bully Maguire memes that have come out of this trilogy, especially the third film, are hilarious, but I’m just trying to keep the tone much more consistent with the first two films.

Hey Noah here’s some more sound effects for deathly hallows as well. The chapters with Bill and Fleur’s wedding and the Battle of Hogwarts.

Thanks, Rob. Depending on what my mood is like, there is a decent chance I may start on Deathly Hallows this upcoming week or weekend.
