Preserving the...<em>cringe</em>...Star Wars Holiday Special (Released)

Hm I think either you or I am confused. In an earlier post in this thread you said this:

The Star Wars Holiday Special - KCCI - Angrysun Release
Newer Transfer with Higher Quality
- Angrysun Release BLAK0016
- 1 DVDr - Fan Preservation/Compilation
- Source - alleged 1st generation “broadcast” tape from KCCI Channel 8 Des Moines, Iowa

and on MySpleen you said this:

8-11-05 - The Star Wars Holiday Special - KCCI - Angrysun Release BLAK0019

What I meant is, what's the difference between BLAK0016 (mentioned here) and BLAK0019 (mentioned in MySpleen); or was it just a typo?

Thanks!

Hey Rik:

I was wondering what the difference is between BLAK0016 and BLAK0019 (which is on your MySpleen tentative release schedule)?

Also, I noticed from your description of the contents of BLAK0016 that some of the extras from BLAK0001 had been removed (the 56 Kenner commercials and the Muppets episode); I was wondering what the reason for this was, like if they were moved to a different DVD collection or something.

Thanks!

New Holiday Special DVD Covers
Time
Actually, check out the bottom image here on prillaman.net...it looks like someone already made this adjustment, although I see a few aspects of that cover that don't quite match your v5. Oh well, I guess it just shows I wasn't the only one who thought it could use a title on the front of the case. So is there an active torrent right now with the cover collection, or do we just have to wait?

New Holiday Special DVD Covers
Time
Anyone happen to know if there exists an actual disc graphic made for the Holiday Special? I didn't see one in the covers I downloaded (so long ago)...I was wondering if perhaps someone could direct me to the most current collection of covers and disc art from Rikter et al.

The most recent DVD case version I have is Angrysun v5...which I thought was an improvement over v4 overall, however it lacks the title on the front of the case; one has to read the spine to see what exactly it is. So I made a slight tweak (just grabbed the title from v4 and pasted it onto v5), see below. Rikter, what do you think? (or did you make future revisions after v5 that perhaps make my little contribution obsolete and irrelevant?) I've no intention of claiming others' hard work as my own of course, it is just for my own personal copy.

Star Wars - The Edits and DVDr releases thread

Rikter:

I found a couple of sites that might be of interest to you or to others (you may have seen them before...indeed, either of them might even be your own sites!). While not necessarily within the scope of what you are focusing on here, they may well serve as good supplementary info.

The first is a site documenting the history of the Star Wars movies on home video, detailing the differences between all the versions, etc. It is at
http://www.davisdvd.com/misc/ep4.htm
(with links at the bottom of the page for the other episodes).

The other is a site documenting the various Star Wars DVDs available, retail as well as bootleg (especially for the original trilogy pre-SE). It is here:
http://www.prillaman.net/starwarsdvd.html

Anyway, keep up the good work!
