Due to the size, complexity, and duration of this project I'm curious as to how you are running the management side of this edit. Is it organized as per an organizational structure (such as Project Manager, Lead Cinematography, Lead Animator, etc...) with assigned tasks and responsibilities, or is it managed mostly ad hoc on an as-needed basis?

I kinda always saw us as just a bunch of like minded buddies, all workin on a project together. Not unlike a bunch of dudes all workin' on a car in a garage on a saturday while drinkin' beer.....except a lot more geeky than that ;) It's not like a structured military organization or anything. It's Ady's edit, so obviously final decision rests with him...but there's no real hierarchy to speak of.

Disney's Sleepy Hollow re-edit (* unfinished project *)

Picked up a headless horseman statue at Home Sense this week. Its almost 2 foot tall, and I figure it'll look quite good in the live action library set for the DVD/Blu menu. The pumpkin he's holding needs a slight repaint as it's a little on the cheesy side, but apart from that it was just too perfect and I had to pick it up.

Yeah, kiddy play time is over. If you can't follow along with discussions that you yourself started then maybe you should just play with your toys while the adults talk and stop wasting everyone's time. You feebly tried to catch me in a contradiction but you were in over your head and now can only offer up childish retorts to try and make it look like I'm jabbering nonsense.

Apologies to all for this horrible derailment.

The quote that you're using to try and catch me in a contradiction that I never made was from a discussion about a line in ROTJ. I used ESB to back up something I was saying about ROTJ......NOT the other way around as you're mistakenly insinuating.

I never had a problem with that. I always took that line to mean that, while she WAS using Luke to try and make Han jealous, she was also testing to see if kissing Luke DID in fact feel as wrong as she thought it would. Not so much a kissing of literal siblings, but more of a "Yup, that FELT like kissing my brother". And it was only in hindsight that Leia said to herself "oh THAT'S why it felt like kissing my brother".

 No problem.....

J

That's taken way out of context. That's a discussion about how I view the line in ROTJ, not a discussion about how I view the kissing scene in ESB. Again, wrong film.

Muddy's argument that the line in ROTJ is fine because he sees the kiss in ESB with the ROTJ 'Somehow I've always known' reasoning in mind,....hes filling in the gaps,.....hes using his knowledge of ROTJ when re-watching ESB which makes the line OK

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not actually how I see the kiss in ESB. In ESB they're not yet even hinted at being brother and sister.....so it's just a kiss between 2 people. Period.

I don't need to bring any of ROTJ into ESB when I watch it. The sibling revelation happens in ROTJ.....and then Leia's line, later in the same film. ESB stands perfectly well on it's own without me having to watch it while thinking of ROTJ as a crutch. In fact, I'd reverse your faulty logic and say that all those who have a problem with the "incestuous kiss" are only having that problem because they're thinking ahead to ROTJ.

Pretty sure you can't claim to agree with someone and then use the reason why you DISAGREE with them to back that up. But I'm done beating my head against this particular brick wall. I'll agree to disagree, while disagreeing that we're agreeing....or something.

LOL. I'm not suggesting it be fixed in ANY film. I still view her statement as alluding more to a FEELING of just being overly close with Luke than an actual knowledge that they were siblings. The way she delivers the line actually indicates that it's hindsight as well. Leia is in no way being painted as sexually weird. The whole Luke and Leia sibling thing was just bad writing, to be sure. A better alternative would have been to leave it vague and let Luke go off in search of his sister at the end of ROTJ.....but Lucas wanted a clear-cut ending to the trilogy so he wouldn't have to make any more of them. It was pure laziness to wrap things up in a tight little package the way he did......but it still works. Leia isn't some weird incestual freak.....she simply looks back through time and realizes that she's always FELT like a sister to Luke.......she's just now (in ROTJ) gotten word that they actually ARE. She had never met him until ANH. Where would she have gotten knowledge that they were related? She didn't.....it was just a strange feeling she had. You ever bump into someone on the street and assume that they were a long lost sibling you never knew you had? No, of course not.....neither did she.

Clearly it's not just me.

You insinuated that Leia was possibly somewhat unlikeable due to her actions and I replied that you'd be the only one I had heard of ever having THAT issue. I never said you were the only one having an issue with the "incest situation"......I simply provided a counter argument, and stated that I personally never saw it the same way or had any problem with it.

The love story that blossoms later on in the film really sells the Leia character as being strong and likeable and WAY overshadows the small moment of cruelty in which Leia uses Luke to get at Han. If you hate her for that then this would be the first instance I've ever heard of someone hating her character for something so insignificant.

Your About Tab on the facebook.

It needs to better convey what the mission is. This should not only be about the Team but what they are striving to achieve. Why do this project? What is the History? For a new comer it has nothing to offer but an assumption that you already know about the previous revisited project. What is Revisited all about? a personal admission from the man in charge. If you are on a mobile the about tab is the first thing you read.

Quote articles that covered your previous project.

Your Videos on Facebook

So far the last few days will not play anymore for some reason. or at least for me.

Presenting a donation drive

Although the donation drive for the lens is primarily been about the Dagobah and Hanger set miniatures. The Hanger miniature would have generated more interest visually and been more exciting. Capturing peoples imagination a bit better. A bunch of trees although fantastically crafted does not have any showbiz about it. Falcon hanger does...

Fan engagement

You go in too quick for posting up your fixes and working towards the fix. Start with comparisons of shots from the original / SE / let people discuss the changes between the versions. Create awareness about why you are doing what you are doing This way some people will feel more engaged if they knew there was a difference in the first place. Yes honestly some people may never have seen the original films. This way the story unfolds and also is more topical. Make people feel a part of your journey from the start not just where you have popped in solution. Bad news is far more interesting so show harmful changes to the films... and put it up for discussion there. There is an educational element missing that most could / would need where some do not.

Although it all is progressing well, there is always room for improvement. This is what I think can be improved upon with the approach /fan page. The people there will do the rest I would hope.

But it's a constructive criticism overall I think it is good page but not sure why videos won't work for me there?.

It's nothing Majorly wrong let's put it that way. I think you are doing a great job overall.

I agree with you on the "About" tab. I've been meaning to offer a rewrite to Ady for a while now since I feel, exactly as you do, that it doesn't clearly explain what the project is.

Apart from that, I feel that this is only the latest post that seems to have forgotten that the point of this project isn't the FB page, or Ady's fan interaction, or scheduled updates, but the edit itself. Ady works on this as his time allows, and updates when he has anything new to update, or when he feels like it. Despite people saying that he's not keeping the fans engaged he always seems to make his donation drive goals within a few days, and perhaps slightly longer for the larger amounts. There has been no shortage of interest in the project, and someone always comes along to throw some needed funds Ady's way. We're doing a LOT better than when the page only had only 4K likes.....there's hundreds of new likes per week.

Again, there's NO PROBLEM. Can we please drop this and get back to discussing creative ideas for the edit instead of the FB page?

Inquiries and questions are very welcome. Though we may not answer everytime someone asks when it will be done anymore because we have tired of the question this isn't anything wrong with a question of that nature bred from anticipation.  That having been said there HAVE indeed been quite a few instances of people acting entitled. Our point is simply that donating does not give you greater rights than anyone else. Donations don't somehow put you on the fast track to the inner circle.

And enjoying the journey in no way implies that one does not anticipate and want the final product. I don't know why those 2 things would have to be mutually exclusive.

Donations, cash or otherwise, are and should be no strings attached.  If you can't handle not knowing the end date, don't donate.

Due to the volunteer nature of this project meaning that real life comes before the edit ^this^ is exactly how donators should understand things (and for the most part they do....there have only been one or two instances of people thinking that they had greater rights to answers about release dates than non-donators).

If we were being paid to work on this (which can never happen, but IF) then we would probably already have deadlines and schedules.....but that simply isn't the nature of this particular beast.

I agree with the sentiments of most here.  I will however say that I can understand why people who have donated money towards the project might get a little impatient if there are further delays.

This is where I disagree. To MY thinking donators have no right to greater expectations than anyone else. You don't donate to earn guarantees of specific release dates or special entitlement privileges. Donations are made simply because someone wants to help Ady.

Many thanks to all for the kind words. And I really can't improve or add much to what's already been said here. There's only one tiny thing I would like to add: Revisited is Ady's HOBBY. This isn't a job, it's not something that Ady needs to become more efficient at doing....it's being done for the pure enjoyment of it. Some folks (very few thankfully, compared to the legions of awesome, patient fans that Ady has) need to realize that just because Revisited has become their go-to version doesn't mean that Ady is under any obligation to finish his project.....he could one day just decide to stop. And the fastest, most efficient way to push him to that point would be to take all the fun out of it and treat it like a product that he is contractually obligated to release by a specific date. We're all having a good time here while waiting for release day......do try not to be a wet blanket 3fw-......it's about the journey, not the destination.

It is annoying that George couldn't make it line up with the preexisting OT, but, if I were to change anything when it comes to Padme's fate, it would be the line in ROTJ. In that film, the line is rather inconsequential. I disagree that it;s a big deal. I could have been, maybe even should have been. But it's one line that barely factors into the conversation Luke and Leia are having. If you took the line out, the film is practically the same.

In ROTS, however, Padme's death is the source of much genuine emotional power, and is one of the film's strongest aspects. It's what really makes Anakin's story a tragedy. If you took it out, you would be making the film worse.

The line might be inconsequential if not for the fact that it hung around for 22 years before the audience got to see the events lining up to the other side of it. When you've got pre-existing material like that which has been around for that long it IS owed some amount of reverence. It has a weight, or seniority in our minds because we've been imagining it for so long.

And while I agree that Padme's funeral is one of the only points in the story where the audience has a chance to connect on an emotional level, it shouldn't be solely responsible for holding up the entire film. If the narrative doesn't hold up without that scene, then the film is crap.....as opposed to that scene being essential to making the film slightly better.

As far as I'm concerned this is all pointless retconning.....Padme should never have died in ROTS. Lucas has always resented the OT for it being so successful when it wasn't his true vision. He wrote the PT however he wanted to without feeling beholden to the OT in any way, shape or form. There are many, MANY examples of his disregard for pre-existing OT story elements in his PT writing. This is nothing more than another of those instances.
