I’ve been working on this edit for a the past couple of weeks using Cole Edit’s cut as a base scenario wise, the soundtrack of some scenes, the esthetic of the end credits, while making a lot some changes and addition to the soundtrack, the intent is pretty much the same while keeping some small aspect like Loomis’s book and how the other characters feel about it, also the nudity, keeping some of the shock value intended by Rob Zombie, with parts of the first act of Halloween II, I’ve managed to get the runtime to 1H50, a link will be available via DM in a few hours, maybe less, you’ll just have to PM me if you’re interested to check the edit out!
Sooo haven’t done an edit list but i can write the gest of what i did, first of all the backstory of Michael is left vague, he doesn’t talk, he snaps the night he kills his sister, but we can see that his sister is ride and physical hitting him when he wears the mask, that and the environment in the house seem to suggest that he didn’t grew up in the best condition but it’s still vague, then i added back the theatrical prison escape, i kept Loomis’s motivation from the original cut when it comes to his book, characters will still refer to it, but we see that he goes through a selfless arc ending with him trying to hold Michael off when he chases Laurie in the house, I made Laurie a bit more introverted, cutting her sexual jokes, and being more embarrassed about the idea of having a date with Ben Tramer, then I’ve put the first act of Halloween 2 almost intact minus Sherry Moon Zombie and the white horse, Laurie’s story ends in a cynical way with a session with her psychiatrist, then we cut to Michael still alive in the wild, then cutting to black hearing him just breathing, a lot of my edit uses Cole Edit’s Fan Cut as a base scenario wise, but adding back, using my own visuals, and reinstate some of Rob Zombie’s signature into the movie, I’ve also done some wonders with the soundtrack.
