This is an interesting fanedit.

It is at the same time a radical cut in the way so many minutes were cut, but at the same time it is still the same movie. Minus all the things people usaly don’t like about it. The way 3PO is cut works very well, and R2 is indeed just another droid. I’m curious to see how this will be handle in the next movies. Just one music cut did not work for me: the podrace parade cut to Shmi and Anakin. It was a bit jarring.

And to answer the previous comment: yes there are several reasons some faneditors now prefer to use something else than the usual hosting sites. And you’re not the first one to voice this opinion. But to be perfectly clear: fanedit.org is just a site that list and comment fanedits. Nothing else. It’s up to the faneditors to choose the way they want to share their works. This page is meant for reviewing the fanedit. Use the forum for any other discussion. Thanks.

What most people don't realize is that there are now 4 different versions of this scene.

1977 (the original): Greedo never shoots.

1997 (special edition): Greedo shoots, then after a long awkward pause Han shoots.

2004 (DVD edition): Greedo shoots, but the awkward pause is shorter

2011 (blu ray): barely any pause but Greedo still shoots first.

So when you hear people complain about this change, remember that it used to? be a lot, lot worse. GL can't stop messing with it.
