Hi all, I wanted to ask if anyone has ever restored a film from letterbox to anamorphic in DVD format? Some studios release dvds in letterbox format to quickly release the dvds in retail. Now that majority of everyone has a 16x9 television, letterbox makes the image really small on a screen. Two movies I know of in particular have been restored to anamorphic but on blu-ray only. “Barry Lyndon” and “Lolita”. If there’s a way to put it onto a dvd5 or dvd9 I’d like to know if possible. Thanks in advance!
So I noticed that while watching The Force Awakens on Starz, the Escape from Jakku sequence is actually an open matte IMAX version of the sequence like how it was presented in theatres. I was wondering if anyone knew how to rip a source from a dvr recording. Thanks in advance!
Of course! that over anything, just fun to spot out!
You actually are correct I forgot about the oscar promo album, that version is the one that was played theatrically.
I heard something about the flags at maz’s castle being revised but I’m not so sure. All I noticed was the musical cue from the end credits
Yeah no visual changes for sure, i don’t know just that 30 seconds of music really elevates the whole experience at least for me you know.
You will notice and remember that when the movie was played in theaters, when Rey’s theme came on at the end credits, it was a different variation to the original theme for Rey. If you have access to the soundtrack go to jedi steps / finale and when you go to 3 minutes and 30 second you’ll notice it’s what was played in the theater. yet when the end credits roll onto the screen from the blu ray, it’s just the default theme for rey without any variation. John Williams’ end credits at least for the original trilogy were my favorite due to the variation of tone to each theme played in the movie. just a thought and even if not a big deal, would love to work with someone to try and get it back to the theatrical music cue onto dvd just for fun! let me know!
as far as changes go, i know they reworked the end credits score. when rey’s theme is first heard in the theatrical version of the end credits, it’s a much different tone from the original track, whereas on the blu ray it’s just the same tone as the original theme. you can check out the differences in the end credits track and rey’s theme on the official soundtrack. would love to change it back to the original.
does anyone know how to create the glow that surrounds the characters on the cover of the saga editions of each dvd? i’m trying to make a custom episode 7 cover. thanks in advance!
Hi I wanted to burn the star wars grindhouse 8mm preservation to a dvd. does anyone know what free program I could use to achieve this? thanks in advance
Has there been any restoration projects of any of the 3 original films in 70mm print? I have yet to see one but maybe I missed it.
I’m not trying to cause trouble I just made a mistake in not reading that. That’s all…
I’m new at this I did not know that so I apologize for asking for a link so disregard my request
I didn’t mean to sound demanding I’ve been looking through the forums and I know what to look for but I can’t find link. Just thought I’d ask is all, no harm no foul. Thanks anyways.
I’m trying to find either a torrent or download of the star wars 1997 special edition trilogy. Does anyone know where I can find a link or download to these? would really love to these versions on to dvd’s. thanks!
Could anyone send me a scan of the 2006 limited edition dvd covers? I’ve been tring to find some online and can’t seemed to. some also are too faded and color isnt fixable. would really appericiate anyone who could send me some in the best quality possible thanks!
here’s a link to my saga DVD cover custom. the back portion of the cover i did not make, I found it from another custom and really liked it so i wanted to use it. I tried to match up the spine size as much as I could with the original saga DVD’s so printing it and having it match properly shouldn’t be a problem. The front isn’t perfect and it was the best I could do so if anyone wants to clean it up feel free to and let me know, i’d love to see what you come up with. I didn’t put any 20th century fox logos because I imagined how Disney would distribute this while looking like the saga covers. let me know your thoughts, thanks.
