Hi stealthboy, gorgeous work on this! I burned all my feature/special features/documentaries spanning two discs per movie for a total of 3-2 disc cases. Will your 50 GB covers work for me?

Yep; I’m also making myself a set of the 50GB versions. I have sub-folders in each of the folders at my Google drive link for 50GB versions of things. The 50GB covers are very similar, just a few changes for SW and ESB for the number of audio options, then more changes for ROJ to include all of the trilogy documentaries found on the 50GB version. Those covers are all done and posted up there on Google drive. You’ll also find 50GB versions of the disc labels (since they just have 2 discs instead of 3 per film).

So, as an example, go into my “Covers” folder, then in there, go to “Covers for 50GB discs”. In there you’ll find the 50GB variants.

The only thing missing is the individual flyer for ROJ that will go inside the case for that film. I hope to have that done tonight.

My first born will be named Stealthboy/girl

Ok, finished the six disc labels - two for each film. Disc one is “MAIN FEATURE” and disc two is “DOCUMENTARIES”. This is for the 50 GB version of the NJVC set.

Everything is up here:

The force is strong with this one. What software do you use? This has become a hobby and I’m leaning so much while browsing the threads.

I use GIMP. I’ve been using it since its release back in 1996. It’s like Photoshop but it’s free. https://www.gimp.org

I can provide you some .xcf source files and you can play around with them. Everything is just in different layers. The tough part is just making sure you get your print sizes right!

excellent! yeas, i would definitely appreciate that. As is, your covers are exactly what I am looking for, but i would ultimately like to learn how to do my own and contribute to the community.

Here is my finished njvc ten-disc set. I used JMoomer’s Criterion-style covers (with an additional fourth cover I made for my Trilogy Documentaries bonus disc). The box was custom made. The flyer has information about all ten discs.

Hello everyone! I am just about to start the project of creating the boxsets and so damn excited for it. I am going for 2-disc cases for each entry (50GB+25GB). I haven’t decided if to go with the criterion cases or standard blu ray cases. Any suggestions as far as the artwork? tips are getting it all done right the first time? where to buy the cases ?

I’m in the same boat, looking for artwork for 2 disc sets. For Jedi, are you going with the two 50GB disc version?

Also, Casetopia seems to be pretty reasonable price wise and they have both criterion and regular blu ray cases.

I intend to make disc labels for the 50GB versions. I have all 25GB so those were my priority, but now that my box set is all done I can move on to other versions. I used the Criterion-style covers by JMoomer (but I had to create a fourth cover for my 25GB trilogy documentaries case). I also made a box for them just last night.

thanks for the contributions stealthboy. This is exactly what I am looking for. I have an extensive criterion movie collection so a criterion themed boxset would look nicely alongside them lol

Thanks ! Someone else suggested casetopia as well. I ran out 50gb discs by Jedi so I have the trilogy documentaries on a separate 25gb disc. I may just hold off and make a proper 2-50GB disc case for jedi so everything fits nicely in one box set. I was also considered buying a 3 disc case for jedi but I would need to change the dimensions of the cover art.

this is exactly what I am looking for to use on 14mm and 17mm criterion cases. If not I may just go along with standard blu ray cases

Finally burned them all woo hoo! Any recommendations cover inserts that would fit a criterion case? Looking to put together an 8 disc set (two 2-disc cases and one 3-disc case) to hold the movies, special features, and documentaries.

Check out ronwlim’s set. Pretty much the best set out there for criterion cases. Some assembly required if you want the full package though.

thanks I am going to run with romwlim’s set. I am creating a 17mm 3 disc case for return of the jedi so I may stretch out the spine a little to accommodate it. I’ll make sure to save changes in case someone here is interested in that.

Blu-ray burners are not overly expensive and blank discs are easy to find. I’ve had quite a few requests to make copies for people, but the answer will always be no. I encourage anyone interested to make a set for yourself. It’s really not that hard.

Btw, the MEGA links remain online for now as there have been a fairly constant chain of requests for them. Has anyone else been having ‘bandwidth exceeded’ errors trying to download them though?

Njvc, I’m still browsing the threads in order to learn as much as possible and trying to lend a hand as much as I can. In regards to the MEGA links, I began downloading the files on Mac using a download manager and I indeed receive a bandwidth exceeded message. I read somewhere that mega is capping there downloads in order to promote their paid service (not sure how valid that is). I then discovered megadownloader for PC which somehow bypasses this cap but I’m now running into errors when decompressing the packages. Not sure if megadownloader is the cause of this errors or it’s something else. Just to briefly answer your question lol.

Ever since the release of Rogue One, I feel in love with Star Wars again. I’ve been searching through my basement just to find out that I still have the box set of the DVD “limited edition” release of the original theatrical cut only to find out that it is super grainy and does not fit my tv aspect ratio properly. Even pressing zoom the the TV does not do it justice since I know that the picture is slightly cut off. As a child of the 90’s I grew up watching Star Wars trilogy on VHS and have both THX version and Special Edition version. Growing older, I learn to realize the importance and appreciate how George Lucas had created the movie oringally even though he claimed that it was “incomplete” but to see that true hard work was put into the movie with using only practical effects as we can coin the term these days. Now movies these days are taking the turn for CGI and rarely do they ever come out with movies that have practical effects. I want to experience the original trilogy again but this time the way how it was originally released and how technology would clean up the picture and show how it was truly meant to be shown, not with all the added or edited scenes but knowing that “Han shot first” or the true effects of the late 70’s and 80’s. If someone out there is reading this, I hope that you’ll be able to share the experience and it would definitely make my holiday a great one!

Sounds like you are suffering from a case of the “GOUT” http://savestarwars.com/gout.html
very painful! Check your PMs! Merry Christmas!

This original post summed up all of my feels and the response shows how those that have been able to re-experience the original trilogy want to share the feeling with others. 😃. I still own the VHS copy of the trilogy which and viewed them with my wife as we neared the release of force awakens. Currently I am working on downloading and creating a physical set of the trilogy and surprising my wife with it. The passion and attention to this project is astonishing and has opened my eyes to not only to this despecializing but also the other fanedits i have discovered on this site. I have obtained the megaupload links to the bluray isos but do you guys have any other sources or other projects I can check out? I understand myspleen accounts are rather exclusive by invite so i am not expecting anything like that due to the infancy of my history on here but I am even open to articles and and blog posts that highlight the culture of this community.
