I want to restore this movie to it’s original http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073000/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3
I think the job is easier to do than the Star Wars project. The original movie is released with original aspect ratio in 1080p. However it is not restored. It has film-scratches and dust and is added to the bluray for comparison. This is because they restored the 4:3-version to a 16:9-version by both adding new info to the film digitally and sadly by cropping top and bottom in many shot.
I want to do this because I want to watch the movie as it was when released in 1975 without scratches and dust in original 4:3-version
Is there any recommended software? I am looking for free software to use who isn’t hard to use. Could someone help me doing this?
