Star Wars Episode I: Cloak Of Deception (Released)

All right, having thought about it a bit more, here’s what I imagine for the ‘alternate’ set of edits as companions to my main edits.

  • Original film titles, same crawls otherwise as main edits (ideally, if possible)

  • Not sure whether to reinstate midichlorians! Current canon projects have seemed to dodge explicit mention of them, and even if one needed them for its story they would be probably be introduced there just fine

TPM:

  • Reinstate the trip underwater to Otah Gungah and a few scenes that come with it which were only removed due to depending on it

  • Reinstate Anakin being stated to be too old to be trained

AOTC:

  • Reinstate Yoda with a lightsaber

ROTS:

  • Existing alternate stuff about having Padme die would be part of this

  • Reinstate youngling murder scene and a few references to it

  • Reinstate Yoda vs Sidious and the explicit plan of Yoda and Obi-Wan to assassinate the two Sith (using the AI ‘Your mother once thought as you do’ line in ROTJ will help here)

In order to avoid having THREE versions of Episode III on offer (current/main version, alternate version, alternate stuff described above but Padme still lives on Alderaan), I could simply reinstate the youngling stuff into the main version as an update and have the fully alternate version in which Padme dies and Yoda fights Sidious.

Or, we could really just legitimately offer three cuts of Episode III to fit with anyone’s taste on these points:

  • Padme lives, Yoda does not fight Sidious
  • Padme dies, Yoda fights Sidious
  • Padme lives, Yoda fights Sidious

All three would feature youngling murder, for the reason that a major canon project closely tied to the Skywalker Saga (The Kenobi show) makes central use of this story point.

Thoughts? Outrage?

Original film titles, same crawl in alternate versions works for me very well.

Hello. A few months ago I saw an edit of Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker Force Ghost from David Kaylor’s Return of the Jedi – The Final Cut from his Star Wars: The Original Trilogy – The Final Cut edition, where David visually aged his face to make it look like the canonical age of 45 that the Vader/Anakin character had when he died. I think it was a more necessary change than having a younger version. So, Hal, I don’t know if you are interested in adding it to your Custom Special Edition of Return of the Jedi in the final part of the film of the Planetary Celebration version, or if you prefer to leave it as it was, with the original Anakin Skywalker, played by Sebastian Shaw. If you are interested in seeing the image, here is the link down below. Greetings! 👋🏻

I categorically prefer Shaw as Anakin’s ghost in ROTJ, as I feel it says more about Anakin’s redemption, whereas using Hayden makes it feel like a reversion.

I understand your perspective and respect it completely 👍🏻🤝🏻 Greetings once again!

“Final lesson, Rey.”
“Dernière leçon, Rey”.
“Leia sensed it during your training.”
“Leia l’a senti pendant ton entraînement.”
“Ever since Skywalker.”
“Depuis Skywalker.”
“But everyone’s only out for themselves.”
“Mais tout le monde n’en fait qu’à sa tête.”
“Possibly some sort of spy!” (3PO answering “Who are you?”)
“Peut-être une sorte d’espion !”
“Come home.” (Leia to Ben)
“Viens à la maison.”
“Horrible things… have happened with this.” (It’s from the original movie, I know, but keeps me from looking up several subtitle files again)
“Horrible things… have happened with this.”
“What’s troubling you, Rey?”
“Qu’est-ce qui te préoccupe, Rey ?”
“But Leia feared the hatred that consulted our father… choosing instead to follow our mother’s path. Despite losing everything… and everyone… Leia always chose compassion over hatred.”
“Mais Leia a craint la haine qui a consulté notre père… choisissant plutôt de suivre la voie de notre mère. Malgré la perte de tout… et de tous… Leia a toujours préféré la compassion à la haine.”
“Let Leia’s legacy guide you on Exegol.”
“Laissez l’héritage de Leia vous guider sur Exegol.”

This video is not mine, I found it on YouTube and it’s a trailer only. This was made by a fan called LioZ where you see Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost facing off against Emperor Palpatine with appearances from other Jedi Force Ghosts like Obi-Wan Kenobi and more. This is its revisioned version, its cut is called “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (LioZ’s Cut)” which will be released this year.
