Thanks for the critique. I think I’ll work on rotoscoping a Dooku scene, then lipsync it so that it matches. Also, Vader’s knighting is not in my edit, so hopefully the reused dialogue won’t be an issue.

Working on something, wanted to share with you guys. My edit combines TPM and AotC, and Dooku is not officially a Sith until the victory on Geonosis. Here is a scene I’ve worked on for him getting “dubbed” as Tyranus. Still need to work on lip syncing and removing background audio, but let me know what you think!

That’s really impressive! I’m a StormPilot guy myself, but those who want to keep the TLJ ship could easily insert this into an edit!

I’m working on an edit that keeps Vader’s identity a complete secret, part of this involves hiring a voice actor to dub over some lines. Do you guys have any idea on phrasing to keep the lines vague enough? I’ve thought of having him say something along the lines of “You left Anakin for dead, but it was I who killed him.” Similar mystic wording that the OT used to conceal Vader’s identity, while still making it clear that Obi-Wan knows.

I’m working on an adaptation of the scene from the Vader comics where Vader finds out that Luke is his son. I’ve hired a voice actor so far, and am working on compiling footage that can realistically fit into ESB. My idea is that it’ll play out at the start of ESB, but end on Boba leaving Vader in silence. Then, either the end of ESB or the beginning of RotJ will show the scene with the flashbacks, cementing the previous reveal.

Has anyone done a version of Anakin’s ghost that just appears as unmasked Vader? When it’s down to semantics I like to argue that it’s what his ghost should look like, though it obviously wouldn’t for the movie. Still, it would be fun to see.

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think it works. It was worth a try, and you did the best you could, but it just doesn’t land. I guess it would need to be made clearer what it is we’re cutting to.

This feels way too long and clear. I think it needs to be quick and maybe given a blur. Something more like this.

Hello OT.com! This is my personal cut of The Force Awakens, mainly based on Hal9000’s Restructured and NeverarGreat’s Starlight cuts.

The main changes, aside from the restructures from the above mentioned cuts, are that I’ve added some scenes from two fan made films on youtube, those being SeizetheFrame’s Force of Darkness film, and Daniel Broadway’s Battle of Jakku. I encourage you to give both a watch, they are fantastic creators, and the inspiration for this cut.

-The film opens on a vision of Han fighting at the Battle of Jakku, destroying an Imperial Star Destroyer. It cuts to Rey’s appearance directly after. The intent is to present the legends Rey thinks of when scavenging the ruins.

-After Rey makes her meal, we cut to Kylo’s shuttle over Jakku.

-After Finn returns and gets harassed by Phasma, we cut to Rey eating, and her meeting with BB-8. This scene has been regraded to match the time of day as Finn’s crash landing. These two events now occur at roughly the same time.

-After the introduction to Maz’s castle, we cut to scene of Kylo Ren walking through a winter forest, where he encounters the visage of Darth Vader, who tells him, “Your destiny lies with me.” Kylo denies this and calls it impossible, to which Vader replies that he knows nothing of the Dark Side. Kylo attempts to freeze Vader, but the Sith continues. Kylo suddenly wakes up in front of Vader’s helmet, and begins his prayer. The intent is to display just how Vader’s voice is affecting him, and hint at its true origin.

-When Rey has a vision of the Knights of Ren, she has quick flashes to the Sith Throne on Exegol.

-As Rey watches Ochi’s ship fly away in her vision, Palpatine’s laugh is heard.

-The film now ends on Rey leaving in the Falcon, without showing Luke.
