I’ve thought about commissioning a 3d artist (Howard Day, maybe?) to do a scene of Slave 1 gunning down the TIE Interceptors in the finale. Would wrap up that loose end, and give Boba some action. You could even use AI voices to show the Armorer calling Boba for help.

I see it better now. I like that one, but I’d substitute “tasked” for “aided”. the extraneous canon makes it clear it’s Leia’s idea, but it can be inferred that some of the New Republic has begun to sympathize with her. This may also support that scene where Leia sends an agent to Hosnian (which, I forget if its in this edit, been a minute.)

I get the point of trying to add in some sympathy for the Republic, but isn’t a large part of the story that the Resistance formed due to their unwillingness to help?

Maybe Kylo’s opening line could emphasize that Palpatine’s current body is decaying? “You’re a dying husk. What could you give me?”

For the end, a simple “Rey” when he sees her again would say a lot, and maybe a “thank you” as he fades away. I do like “look how far you’ve come” too, that BrotherofSasquatch suggested.

Really cool concept, but imo the voice doesn’t sound much like Vader.

Really hope this project makes it, it has some of the most creative choices I’ve seen with a lot of thought put into it.

Eh, I thought the scene where he meets with the trio there’d be room to mention it, but on a rewatch there’s not much there.

Apologies if this has been brought up, but is there a solid model of Billy Dee out there? I remembered that Lando has a line in the novelization about his daughter being kidnapped, perhaps that could be inserted in.

I see what you’re saying, but this editor is intent on keeping this as the same canon result as the original season 3 from what I can tell. If you’re wanting something that changes this, you can pursue other fan edits. Lord knows there’s an abundance.

Out of curiosity, and apologies if it’s been brought up before, but have you considered editing Palpatine’s lightning at the end (the bass boosted attack on the fleet) to be red? I’ve seen some edits toy with the concept, and I thought it would do a good job of showing his increase in power. Plus, with red lightning existing in Legends, there is precedent for it.

That sounds fairly seamless! I hope it’s reasonably possible to vfx R5 over in the appropriate places, I really like how this builds up R5’s arc as you mentioned.

(Now that I’m thinking about it, kinda weird that they made the bubble for Grogu only to barely use it, huh?)

This is something I was considering, but the problem is that Din’s trip to Nevarro sets up a lot of plot threads (Greef offering Din land/a home, IG-11/12’s return, the pirates). The only one of these I can probably get rid of without missing much is the pirates, but the Anzellans only appearing in the penultimate episode with a brand new mech for no reason doesn’t feel great. That’s true, the IG-11 setup is pretty essential. Maybe there’s a way that Din could take the commercial vessel to Nevarro? Then he could mention to Greef that he’s looking for a replacement for the Razorcrest as well. Not sure how feasible it is, and at the end of the day not a huge issue, but interesting to think about.

Also, I know you mentioned AI voices, but I do know that Emily Swallow and Katee Sackhoff have Cameos for relatively cheap, that may be a viable source of lines for their characters.

This sounds perfect! Working BoBF in as a subplot of Mando’s story feels a lot more balanced than how it ended up being presented, and I’m intrigued to see how Grogu being missing is accomplished. Definitely feel like more time apart will be more impactful. Out of curiosity, how much of Boba Fett’s story will be included? Do we see his flashbacks, or is it just Din’s interactions with him?

Also, and this would require some more VFX work than may be possible, but with Grogu out of the picture, maybe Din gets R5 from the get go of having the N1? Would be a bit difficult to pull off, but would spare a return trip to Peli’s.

Lastly, are the Plazir and Pershing stories cut down? I imagine that episode with both of them would have to be quite hefty.
