ANDOR: The Rogue One Arc (Rogue One Rescore) [AVAILABLE]
Time

Watched the first episode so far and I took some notes

One thing that really stood out watching this edit was the difference in filming style between Andor and Rogue One. In Andor shots linger and I think it does alot of the heavy lifting in establishing tension. I found myself wishing that the camera would linger on the reactions of characters here for that same reason.

The rescoring changes the overall feel immensely and it does feel like a much better story, especially with the removal of easter eggs.

Couple of notes if you’re looking for any points to improve:

  • If the noise made by the imperial ship passing by Jyn at the start of the film was a bit longer i think it would help with establishing tension, still amazing as is though
  • The Yavin 4 Alliance intro didn’t really fit imo. The one when they were leaving fit really well though. Maybe something tied to Mons music idk.
  • The Jyn Flashback was immaculate.
  • Entering Jheda had a really cool music backdrop, it felt like the world had a unique vibe. It might be cool if when entering the city that type of music or that music was in the background to connect the two scenes.
  • I’d recommend cutting overt signs of Saw’s people before the attack. Both Jyn and Andor notice somethings about to happen just from seeing somebody on a rooftop already. So removing overt shots of people hiding helps establish that they are both observant.
  • Something about Chiruts fight music felt off, I’m not sure what though.
  • At the end of S1 episode 3 of Andor there is this three minute swell which works really well. I think something like that could be cool from about 40:20 to the end.

This whole thing is amazing, ty for making it.
