Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I was looking for!
I remember a few years back someone made a fake video of Luke missing the first grappling hook throw. (by cleverly editing the actual scene) I can’t seem to find it anywhere now. Could anyone maybe PM me that video if anyone has it? Thanks!

ahhh thank you for the reply... i already looked for the 16mm puggo to download but cant find the link in the thread... by ,, real " i mean the same ,, bad sound and picture" quality as released in the cisemas all thos years ago ;) can you maybe send me the links to them ?
sounds strange but for me counts as worst as best :D
Star Wars was never released in bad quality in the cinemas.
you're right ;) But i want to have it as close as possible as seen in the cinemas on first release :)
But that's what I'm saying. Unless you watched it at a theater that showed some really old, beat up print, it would have looked great! Film itself is better quality than blu-ray. So, to see Star Wars as close as possible to its first release, just watch Harmy's Despecialized.

Does anyone recall what trailers were on before Star Wars played during it's first run? I think it would be fun to find them and view them before watching Harmy's despecialized on the 25th.
Sorry, I meant the blu-ray versions. I'm just trying to get an idea of the way these movies should look. At least an approximation.
What are the major color issues with Empire & Jedi? I know Empire has WAY too much blue during the Hoth scenes but what are the other problems with it? Also, what is wrong with the colors in Jedi? I know there must be some! I just can’t seem to recall much talk about Jedi’s color problems.
I once heard a theory that drive-ins sometimes got weird prints of movies that "regular" theaters didn't get. And that people who say they've seen this grappling hook scene almost always saw it at drive-ins. Don't know how true this could be. Maybe. I don't know.
Anyone here notice any strange audio glitches with the 1985 Laserdisc track on the 2.5? Like very faint repetitions of sound in some scenes? Like the scene with Luke & Ben on the Falcon. When Ben replies "That's good, you've taken your first step into a larger world." After he says world, you then hear the word again very faintly. Like world--orld. There's other examples too but that one really sticks out for me. Just wonder if anyone else noticed.
Well, I tried it with Ripbot with success! I think I'll stick with it from now on. Handbrake is still good software but I think for me personally, Ripbot will be the way to go.
Yes, I forgot to mention that. It does play back correctly on my computer.
Okay. I turned up verbosity & it just told me about the aspect ratio & that cropping was set to 0,0,0,0 What should I do now? Or maybe Handbrake just doesn't "like" this file? Maybe I need to set it to add black bars? If so, how do I go about this? Sorry for all the questions, it's just that this seems so simple but frustrating!
It's weird. I'm setting the cropping all to 0. It still zooms in to fill out my television. I don't know. All I'm trying to do is encode it to mkv, then use tsmuxer to make it AVCHD, then use ImgBurn to burn it to a disc. It plays back fine except for the cropping that handbrake is doing!
I have a question about handbrake. I have a scope ratio video file (2:39), yet handbrake zooms in & gets rid of the black bars. I've tried different settings, yet I get the same results every time. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas? (I apologize if this seems like a dumb question.) I just like watching movies in the correct aspect ratio. Black bars do not bother me!
What is the consensus on DVD5 discs being used for AVCHD? Is the loss of quality really that noticeable? I know DVD9 is the way to go but was just curious how bad a 2 hour movie with just 1 dolby or dts track would look?
Would this version be "complete" or somewhere near "complete?"
Does anyone know how to add subtitles with tsMuxer? I must be missing something. I’m trying to make a Japanese dubbed Star Wars (Harmy’s 2.0) with English subs. I add the MKV (only keeping the Japanese language) I then add English subs and run output as AVCHD. Once tsMuxer is done, I play it back but the subtitles aren’t there. Am I missing some crucial step? I freely admit I’m no expert at this stuff but I’ve not run into any problems so far. I just don’t get why the subs don’t show up. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong or what I’m missing?
I just watched the AVCHD of ROTJ & was wondering something. Have Shaw's eyebrows been redone? Because they look perfect to me! I was wondering, cause I seem to remember them looking more like animation when I first saw Harmy's Depecialized ROTJ & now they look great. Personally I'm having a hard time imagining a 2.0 of this & Empire! They seem perfect to me as they are! Just curious about Shaw's eyebrows though.
So would the Puggo Grande 16mm contain the first version of credits? If so, would the "spaced" credits be for the 1978 re-release & onwards? (1981 included?) I apologize for all the questions. Just VERY curious!
97 Special Edition would be very nice!
Oh, ok. That would explain why I couldn't find any theatrical trailers for 1979! Thanks for the info.
Does anybody here know about the trailer for the '79 re-release for Star Wars? I know about the '78 Academy Award trailer (with the coming July 21st credits at the end) but I can only find the '81 & '82 trailers after that. Did 20th Century Fox & Lucas just reuse the '78 trailer minus the coming July 21st credits at the end, or was there an entirely different trailer made for '79? I love these old trailers & was wondering.
Just curious: What are the "alternate Dolby Digital 5.1 version 1 & 2" mixes of Empire & Jedi? I love the different mixes of these movies & just wondering what these are.
