The big m2ts file is 8,459,649,024 bytes.

First off, just want to thank Harmy for these AMAZING versions. Always cringed at the CGI additions.

Secondly, anybody know where to find the original ROTJ file? I only have access to the 7GB ones.

Thanks!

PMā€™d you the link to one I finally got to work for me thatā€™s the size Darth Mallwalker referenced.

I think that wonā€™t work, at least for me, as Iā€™m on a mac. But I am happy to report that apparently 4th timeā€™s the charm. My latest despecialized ROTJ attempt is both the correct size and playable. The extracting process functioned as with SW and ESB, and loaded into VLC that way with no issue. Thanks for all the feedback.

Thanks, both.

I should have mentioned Iā€™m on a Mac, so I think some of those options are out for me. Handbrake isnā€™t recognizing the m2ts file for conversion either (and I think it should) so Iā€™m wondering if something is wrong with the file. Iā€™m unopposed to trying it a 4th time and/or leaving it alone with the .mkv I have for now, until there is a v2.0. I donā€™t actually know that there is anything problematic about the .mkv as far as quality, only that Iā€™m having a far different process than what I experienced with SW and ESB.

Iā€™m a bit confused by this as well. I have attempted the Harmy ROTJ download 3 times. Twice on tehparadox and once via torrent.

Iā€™m a terribly novice at this, so please forgive my ignorance. Iā€™d like to be sure I have the most appropriate file. And determine whether Iā€™ve a case of corrupt/incomplete downloads or a case of idiocy.

The first is displaying as:
BDMV
Kind: AVCHD Collection
Sixe: 7,340,025,444 bytes (7.34 GB on disk)

I cannot play this with the VLC player but have not attempted yet to burn it. (I have been able to play SW and ESB in the VLC player. For those, the AVCHD folder has both a BDMV file and a Certificate file, and I was able to load the entire folder to play.)

The second attempt displays as:
00000.m2ts
Kind: MPEG-2 Stream
Size: 6,991,685,948 bytes (6.99 GB on disk)

I cannot play this either, and it renders the VLC player unresponsive.

The final is an .mkv download via torrent:
Kind: Matroska Video File
Size: 7,238,553,785 bytes (7.24 GB on disk)

This one plays easily on a variety of applications. Iā€™m just not sure if this version is verifiable as the the file I want (or if my limited understanding makes it irrelevant anyway). Do I perhaps have two HD and one SD at this point?

Very sorry, as Iā€™m sure these endless download questions must be tiring. If anyone is inclined too offer feedback, Iā€™d be grateful.

Return of the Pug (ROTP) - webpage and screenshots (Released)
Time

Hello there.

Iā€™ve been trying to work up the nerve to post and inquire about a few things, but in the meantime have been tinkering and toiling with uncovering the best SW preservation/restoration options since falling down this rabbit hole some weeks ago.

Iā€™ve decided to hunt down both the Despecialized Trilogy and the Puggo Trilogy to have a high quality version and ā€˜vintage/nostalgicā€™ version of the trio in their unaltered glory. Iā€™m working on gifts for my pops and my beau, both avid fans, and I canā€™t tell you how excited I am with this site and all Iā€™ve learned. For the record, my dad still keeps a laserdisc player hooked up in his den and has multiple copies of the trilogy in that format. In '77 he dragged my mom (with me in the belly) to endless Star Wars showings, so you could say itā€™s in the blood.

After a few weeks of clumsy self teaching of newsgroups and .rar and .nzb and usenet and utorrent and lions and tigers and spleens, oh my, I still have no idea what Iā€™m actually doing but seem to have all the Harmy editions and two of Puggoā€™s. And a folder full of really spectacular fan art.

I was coming to plead my case for some kind soul to point the way to Return of the Pug, but it seems maybe itā€™s not yet out? Is everyone waiting for v2 or is its first release still forthcoming?

In any case I thank you all for such a cool forum. The Harmy films make me just absolutely giddy with their awesomeness and Puggoā€™s 16mm captures are completely magical. Itā€™s really exciting what youā€™re doing here.

Best to all and I await news of the Pug.
