I have only a few that strip HDCP. The same model has been updated by the company to keep within HDMI requirements. This is a general trend with such devices.

Often times a company will get a batch ( or three or four) of a few thousand of the device that will strip HDCP. After the company or an HDMI partner finds out the company must have its factory fix the flaw.

Some factories are lazy and don't care and will only update the specs when told by their buyers they HAVE TO DO IT.
