Blade Runner: The Complete Music Collection (work-in-progress)
Time

Some of these are well known bootlegs but are starting to show their age, given the recent work done by others on the web.

So unless you actually want a "limited edition" cd (of which these may or may not be), I'd recommend checking out [link removed] where you can probably find what you are looking for...

No links to pirated materials or sites linking to them, please.

Focuspuller, I'm sorry to say this but... you can't have your cake and eat it too!

While you were away from this forum, a discussion started and you can't just expect to show up now and tell everyone to shut up. Of course, the main topic here is YOUR set of BR recordings but we are ALL Blade Runner soundtrack fans and we are ALL looking for THE ultimate soundtrack...

We all understand you have been dealing with personal issues in the meanwhile but you HAVE been away from this forum for a while and life goes on...

What Spiderwalk did was very polite and totally in oder; he said it himself, this is the last time he will talk about it... But I think most of us here still appreciate this final update to close up the discussion in question.

p.s. Thanks to both of you for all the amazing work you've been doing and thanks for the recent updates!

Sorry about going over your head with this, it just seemed like it was bound to end up there at some point or another, considering the massive (and often redundant) selection of BR soundtacks they've put together... I've downloaded my copy of the 2019 edition (and a few more) from them since it was mentioned here one or two weeks ago so it seemed like a logical step. The fact that THIS site had the links taken down just made me jump the gun while the RS links were still valid. I'm sorry if you took offense. :-(

Thanks a lot Spiderwalk!

Sounds pretty good so far!

(and knowing it's based off of the excellent 2019 edition makes it even better!)

:-)

As for Focuspuller, I hope everything is find with you and yours and that you will someday finally be able to amaze us with that ultimate edition we have all been waiting for since the film's release almost 30 years ago now...!

Good luck to you too!

Attention: all you "audio snobs" who hate MP3!
Time

@ Rob ("As far as masters go, only an idiot records in digital.")

I guess then that 95% of the recording industry is composed of idiots then...

In this day and age, everything is recorded and mixed digitally. True, they won't be using mp3(!) or even "CD quality"  but rather much higher bitrates!

As far as Vinyl vs MP3, I guess it all depends on WHICH vinyl and WHICH MP3... (but personally, i prefer a nice multichanel SACD - a dying format, i know, but i still love it!)

p.s. "Yoday Is Your Father", I totally agree with you! It's a pitty but it's true: Music has become disposable.

But the death of the record store is not what i'm worried about. It's mostly the death of the used CD shop - that is scary! I could name dozens of artists I love today that I discovered through used 2$ cds, tapes & even LPs picked up from used record stores, hand-me-downs, garage sales or pawn shops and the disapearance of this part of the market is really a tragedy for our future musical heritage.  Music is now deletable.

(By the way Hal 9000, I find your signature offensive to all Atheists, Agnostics and probably also anyone not of the Christian faith.)

Just had to say so after seeing it pop up for a few posts now... sorry.

By that token, wouldn't your signature be offensive to all Christians?  The pendulum swings both ways, buddy.

(By the way, I myself am an atheist, I just don't see the point in being offended by people who disagree with you)

First of all, i'm glad SOMEONE's finally noticed and said anything about any of this (!)

I initially just wrote the message a couple weeks ago hoping Hal would realise that not everyone here is a Christian and that his first quote claiming that Atheism was nothing but hot-air could be insulting to some... unfortuately, neither he nor anyone else said a thing about this...

My new signature wasn't meant to offend, just to put things into perspective. I believe a person's religious beliefs (or lack thereof) should remain their own and probably don't belong on a website/topic about Star Wars Hi-Def Fan Edits and such (unless we're talking about the Jedi faith ;-)

But since this clearly isn't the case, why not express my own religious beliefs through my favorite theological quotes in much the same way Hal9000 had done before me. In these, the messages are the same but the roles are reversed. Why would that be more offensive?

mjl

(p.s. if anyone is truely offended by these, i will gladly remove them immediately)

Ady, why are you going to using the Laserdisc audio for Phantom menace? Is it better than the DVD audio? Also, why not release the other two prequels sooner? for ROTS all of you have to do is literally add one wipe to make it the theatrical version.

The phantom menace has an extended cut of the pod race scene on the dvd.

As far as i can remember, only the Laserdisc has the theatrical cut... right?
