Macross: Do You Remember Love? (Released)
Time

Hi Matt_Stevens:

I have been looking into getting the DYRL? BD edited, too.

Here are all the changes that I have been able to find on the DYRL? BD.

1. An unnecessary opening title card about the back story of the movie. The back story was already explained in the movie by one of the main characters, Lynn Minmay.

00:00:12 - 00:00:27 Title Card (BD dyrl, 15 seconds)

2. Two censored 1 second gore scenes.
a. Milia's Queadluun-rau mecha crushing the head
of Zentradi soldier
00:44:45 - 00:44:46 (BD dyrl)
00:44:44 - 00:44:45 (remastered DVD dyrl, 1 second)

b. During the ending battle aboard the Macross fortress, one of the civilians is decapitated.
01:39:50 - 01:39:51 (BD dyrl)
01:39:44 - 01:39:45 (remastered DVD dyrl, 1 second)

3. Two music changes have been done for the new 5.1 audio on the DYRL? BD:

a. At the moment when Lynn Minmay's commits herself to singing the DYRL? song, the background music of "eternal love" or "abareru kokoru" has been removed.
01:37:07 - 01:37:51 (BD dyrl, song is missing)
01:35:27 - 01:36:11 (remastered DVD dyrl stereo, 44 seconds)

b. When Lynn Minmay raises up her arm to show Misa Hayase that the DYRL? lyrics translated Misa has helped to win the war, the DYRL? song piano reprise has been removed.
01:48:22 - 01:48:44 (BD DYRL, song is missing)
01:48:14 - 01:48:35 (remastered DVD dyrl, 20 seconds)

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I seem to remember that Adywan was hoping to buy the Star Wars: Blueprints book by Rinzler, but it was too expensive.

I saw on Amazon.com that the SW:Blueprints book is being re-issued on April 2/13 for only $100. I hope that it's not an early April Fool's joke.

I put in my pre-order.

Info & Requests: Flash Gordon - Greatest adventure of all & GI Joe: A real American hero
Time

I looked around the internet for Flash Gordon the greatest adventure vhs.

Yahoo japan auction does not list any animated Flash Gordon LDs for sale.

Then I found that the only Flash Gordon animated movie videos on sale are the bootleg VHS to DVD copies on ioffer. I would rather buy an official DVD, LD or VHS.

Someone put together a very nice custom DVD cover for their Flash Gordon animated movie bootleg.

And I found a blog that posts a magazine article about the Flash Gordon animated movie.

Macross: Do You Remember Love? (Released)
Time

I am interested in hearing how your friend in Japan is attempting to restore the SDFM:DYRL theatrical version.

Would he be patching certain BD censored scenes with the remastered DYRL DVD or with the DYRL LDs?

The remastered DYRL DVD video transfer showed a lot of video grain in scenes that have a black background. I understand that video grain is always a part of film, but the mpeg2 dvd codec made the film grain look worse than what is shown on the DYRL bluray.

Some scenes in the BD are lot less sharp than others and have lots of film grain, dirt and specks. Would there be a way of fixing that?

Would he consider updating the 5.1 audio for the missing introduction of the DYRL song?

The remastered DYRL stereo audio also has problems with audio pop and click sounds. I suppose one of the three issued DYRL LDs could have the stereo audio extracted and heard for audio quality. The remastered DYRL mono audio sounds just fine for theatrical DYRL DVD in the remastered DYRL DVD set that I have.

I'll be watching this post.

***************

Just now, I watched parts of the BD DYRL movie and could not hear the difference where the audio might have been altered. I'll have to re-read that Macross World forum thread and take a listen again.

1 Hr 37 minutes audio change.

BD 5.1 audio is missing some background dramatic music just before the DYRL song starts.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Hello Harmy:

Thank you for putting together these very fine SW AVCHDs!

Your SW AVCHDs are a big improvement over the 2004 SW DVDs!

I was reading in this thread that you were considering a SW 2.0 despecialized AVCHD depending on the deleted BD SW scenes. At least, I think I did.

Anyways, when I first saw SW in 1977 in the movie theatre in Canada, there was the Biggs scene like the SW special edition but also Red leader was talking about how he knew Luke's father in the Clone Wars. By the 2nd theatrical release, that SW scene was edited out by George Lucas. If that complete Biggs and Red Leader scene becomes available on the BD SW set and you have the time and energy, then could you add that scene back on, please?

That would be the SW I remember from a time long ago...
