I've been told that much of the Thief material on the reel was animated by Richard ... not sure who animated the rest.
Okay, here's the info on the fifteenth disc in the Richard Willliams DVD collection. It's in PAL.
I am creating the sixteenth disc at the same time. Also in PAL.
There is a lot of material here that you won't have seen before, and there is some you WILL have seen before, but which is being DVDized here for the first time in its original PAL (and sometimes in better quality), which I know some people will appreciate.
I started to create both DVDs, and I was spreading content across both discs - Thief content on one, Roger Rabbit content on the other.
Then I realized .... I don't want everyone to have to get certain shows twice if they don't want to. I should put ALL the "new" content on one disc, and all the "old" content on the other.
Because I like you guys. So that's what I did.
So here's the "new" disc.
Thief and the Cobbler Pencil Tests - 56 minutes worth, accompanied by the audio from the film. (I would have edited a music track like I did for the last pencil test compilation, but I got lazy.)
Roger Rabbit Richard Williams Interviews - five of them, local news stories from British TV (and an appearance on a kid's show). Russell Hall, Robert Zemeckis and Charles Fleischer also feature.
Thief and the Cobbler Richard Williams interview - Another news report as Richard talks about trying to create a "masterpiece."
Richard Williams at the British Film Awards - accepting a special achievement award.
Roger Rabbit test footage - you've seen this on the official Roger Rabbit DVD documentary - here it is in its original form - some guy plays Eddie Valiant, Roger plays himself.
Air Canada Ad 1989 - Rare in that this was done at the studio where Roger Rabbit was animated.
National Film Board of Canada Richard Williams intros - From a desk covered in Thief backgrounds, Richard introduces several films by Canadian animators.
Seaside Woman - short film by Oscar Grillo. Not Richard Williams related.
Nasruddin clip from One Pair of Eyes - in its original PAL and its original edit.

So that's disc 15.
Now, for disc 16 ...
Everything old is new again.
This will have a better print of I Drew Roger Rabbit on it, a PAL print of the reel of Williams Studio ads, a PAL print of the Warner Bros. trailer, and something else.
I'm including this material in PAL because it was originally sent to me in PAL. I cleaned this stuff up when I converted it to NTSC, so the NTSC version should actually look better, but it's best to have the original unscrewed with versions too.

congratulations ocp for sucha an incredible enford!!! and beside this proves how tiny was the fraction of the movie unfinishied. was it soooo terrible let williams finishied in a little bit more time instead of fire the man who created and destroy the work of his life?? i can't imagine the kind of depretion williams must got in with that. i wonder what is richard doing right now, if he is envolved in some new proyect, if he keeps animating for himself or doing comercials becouse his last finished movie was rogger rabbit. i have no idea what happend with him after they screwed his master work with arabian knight. ocp you have been in touch with his son, did he tell you something about him?
btw some post ago you put a new version of the dvd cover but without the link to the high res file, the link was only for the cd i think. if you could post it i'll be more than thankfull so i'll have such an amazing dvd in a preety box!
something weird happened to me today as i was watching the movie. my mon steped into the room and started to watch it too. i say she would be a tipical viewer, an average mom with no knolage of what's good animation and she said "what ugly drawings" and stop watching it and left. that leave me thinking about the producers don't wanting to take a risk with such a boudbraking movie. the visuals are very weird and styled for a regular joe to watch it and also the plot with silent characters shouldn't like to the executives pretty much who just wants to win money for the movie they invested in. i think the thief and the cobbler is one of the best animated movies i've seen but i'm an animator and i'm watching also lots of technical stuff that's amazing and the all the background cool designs. it's a master piece for me but i think for an average guy wouldn't be so interested in animation and watching an inovative movie i think definetly not. what a shame...
anyway, thanks again ocp and perhaps thins inspire williams to finish it!

hat off to mr ocpmovie!!
i've heard about this proyect some time ago (by the time the trailer was relese in you tube) and it's an amazing job what you have been doing. i've been reading all the post to track the story of the recobbled cut your are doing and it was quite a trip. i saw it completly in you tube the other knight and i love it. watching an animation movie with part on storyboar or pencil test blown me away. it's a dream came true, specially with this movie that has sufered so many cuts and the posibility to see it the closest as the director ment it it's incredible
i have a couple of questions in my mind and i hope you could anwerd them
1- have you been in any contact with richard williams so he provide you with acurate input or even better, with original material, workprints or art?
2- i read that you allready did one edit of this movi like 6 years ago, was that part of some job or also like a proyect?
3- is it going to be a torrent to download the the movie in full quality with all the extras for hyper fans or you are planing to sell it ??
well, that's all for now. thaks!
sorry for the crappy english!
