Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
The elevator scene is a tough one.

I personally don't have a problem with it, in fact I thought it was one of the better scenes between Ewan and Hayden. We don't see much of their "Friendship" and this scene really tries and I think suceeds in letting us know they are in fact friends. By cutting this, what other scenes really show this -"and he was a good friend". Everything else is pretty much teacher and student.

Trim it, but don't cut it. IMO

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
Wow...wow....and wow. I am actually more excited to see this than I was the real episode II.

ONE QUESTION AND ONE SUGGESTION..

The line that makes me cringe the most of anything is the "I miss you sooooo much line" at the funeral. That expression, delivery, and sappiness is so whiney it's unbearable!!

I think it was Magnolia's edit where he cut it right after, "I won't fail you again..."(sweeping music). THAT is a powerful statement! Please don't ruin it with the weak "I miss you" line.

Please tell me you cut it, and if you haven't, please please do.

Other than that, I'm as giddy as a school boy waiting for this release. Keep up the good work and take as long as you need to get it right!

Info & Help Wanted: Carrie Fisher Gem from Sci-Fi Channel - re Episodes 7,8,9??
Time

Hello Everybody,

Just an average browser, after seeing all the stuff, I was curious about some footage I’d recorded over the years, most of what I have I have seen on Myspleen, but when going through some tapes I found something I had completely forgotten about.

In 1997(?) the Sci-Fi channel had a special showing of all 3 classic star wars films honoring the special editions, what was so great about this was that Carrie Fisher Hosted and at every commercial break, she shared some very interesting commentary including David Prowse’s nickname, the original voice for C-3PO, taping her breasts, inspiration for Yoda, Ewok jokes, and various other tidbits. Very enjoyable and an interesting perspective from Carrie. Then at the very end, I heard something and I said to myself, no she didn’t, she did not say what I just thought she said. She did! She basically says, very clearly and confidently, that episodes 7,8,9 do exist. This is in 1997, NOT prior to Empire and Jedi, in which he says he squeezed everything into those episodes and he and had nothing left.
QUOTE from Carrie: “As you may know the films you’ve just seen are only the middle three chapters in George Lucas’s master plan for a nine part saga, so will there be sequals? Well I can tell you I’ve had conversations with George and heard various rumors, but so far they are only rumors” then talk about how much they would cost . Then quote, “but if additional star wars movies are made, I would be glad to be a part of them” The rumors were that they would be made, NOT that chapters 7,8,9 exist. There is always hope.
Anyone else recall seeing this?

This may be old news, but I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere online and I do a lot of reading. Unfortunitly, the quality of my tape is pretty poor, I had recorded all 3 movies in EP mode on an 8 hour tape. Then I went back and pretty poorly cut out all the commentary pieces and put them onto the end of my Making of Star Wars collection, which also was poor quality. I was 16 and only had VCR’s to work with no computer.

I have recorded it to a DVD via a Panasonic Recorder to preserve this piece and I would love to make it available to anybody who would like to see it. Even better if I could get it to Rik, he could put in on Myspleen for everybody. And i would like to take this time to thank everybody for all their hardwork and gifts provided both here and myspleen. Rik, you can email me at jra166@ptd.net, and I will send this to you, I’m not sure exaclty how big the file is off hand, but it’s only about 20 minutes. You may know of a better way of doing this than e-mail.
