It’s a very ambitious endeavour, and if executed well it could be the perfect ending.
Good luck man!

Thank you! I will start working on it when I get my hands on the 4K Blu-Ray which should arrive on the 20th.

Your ending is definitely the one I wish we had gotten. It’s also the one Pablo Hidalgo said he would have wanted TROS to end with, Ben exiling himself on Ahch-To.

For the ending scene, do you plan on keeping the Force theme? I remember there were rumors that the final scene would feature Ben and Rey and their themes would play together. Since the Force theme already has been used so heavily in final shots of the saga, playing Samuel Kin’s Reylo Love Theme would be a great way to end the saga on an optimistic note.

I’ve heard people mention Joonas hinting a scene that got cut, and this would fit the bill (of course it could be something else). The fact that they built the set makes me believe it was filmed.

If I were to play deleted scene bingo, I would say we are more likely to get this scene than the Oracle scene. I feel like this scene would contradict the narrative of the final film less than the Oracle scene likely did. Trying not to get my hopes up either, considering none of the deleted scenes we’ve ever gotten have been that amazing, and these both sound great.

Somebody on Twitter asked Joonas if he ever filmed a scene with Adam for TROS and he gave a vague response like he’s not allowed to say. If there was no scene, I feel like he would have flat out told us. Keep in mind that he only just revealed that he filmed a scene with Carrie for TFA mourning Han’s death a few weeks ago, basically 4 years after the film’s release. Strange that JJ never talked about this considering all the flack he got.

The leaks for TROS said the original plan was for Luke and Leia to appear as force ghosts on Exegol. I’ve heard some people say they would appear alongside Ben and Rey (as Ben wields Luke’s saber and Rey wields Leia’s saber) but I think the leaks specifically outlined that they wouldn’t appear until Palpatine started lighting blasting Rey. They would stand by her and help shield her and take down Palpatine. Eventually this was scrapped for the Jedi voices scene. I doubt we’ll get this as a deleted scene but it would be nice.

Interesting thoughts, but not for me. I know you tend to be democratic when it comes to devising edit ideas, but personally I don’t care that people wanted Anakin in the movie. I don’t like how the PT tried to reframe the saga as his story, and I don’t care much for making sure his status as ‘chosen one’ is kept intact.

Honestly too I think having Anakin’s hand involved would just be kind of unintentionally funny, considering the romantic nature of the scene (and somewhat undercut the hand-taking throughline of their relationship).

Same here. I have no interest in seeing Anakin in this film and I never cared for how GL claimed the saga was meant to be his story all along, especially that Chosen One prophecy nonsense. I’m glad it wasn’t referenced at all in TROS with the exception of Anakin mentioning some vague mumbo jumbo about bringing balance.

As for the alternate ending with Leia using her life force to revive Ben, I think that is the best decision especially since we actually have Maz looking jubilant when Leia’s body fades away. This moment doesn’t work as well if you have her smiling because Ben has just passed away too, even if he is reunited with his mother. It does make sense if Maz senses that Leia has used her final act to revive her son and reunite him with Rey. Very interesting to see Ben integrated in that final scene although hopefully in footage that doesn’t have him dressed up as Kylo Ren.
