What is the most distressing aspect of the PT?
Time
For me it was Padme's reaction(or total LACK thereof) after Anakin fully admits to her that he has just slayed women and children(sandpeople)! Are you kidding me? Anakin has just ADMITTED to mass murder of innocent women and children and all she can say is "Everyone makes mistakes" or something to that effect(I can't remember the exact line)? She doesn't feel the least bit creeped-out even?
If someone you knew told you they had just committed several counts of murder for a shaky at best reason, what would you do? In fact, what would ANY normal person do? WTF???? WHO WRITES THIS SHIT?! oh wait, I already know. LOL

First Impressions of the OOT ...
Time
After having meager expectations at best for this set, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I have watched Star Wars and Empire on my 52 inch HD LCD and the picture looked great, much better than my "faces" LD set. Some grain in the new set of course but overall great picture and sound. The sound played through my system was surprisingly good too. Rich bass and highs. My only real gripe at this point is that the transfer wasn't anamorphic. I give it an 8 out of 10 overall.

2006 OT DVD: the deal with the Best Buy tin ...

omg, the tin is gorgeous! it holds all three regularly sized cases. the pics in the web make it look thinner than it really is. the best buy store in san diego only has 95 in stock and people were swarming like locusts to get them at opening. there actually was a line!

i heartily recommend it. btw, i'll update answers to my own questions about the audio as soon as i get the chance.

The scene was similar this morning at the Best Buy I went to here in Michigan. The manager told me the other day that they were only getting 75 tins so I got there before they opened and people were swarming for them the minute the doors opened. I was lucky to get one, they were gone pretty quick. Pretty cool little tin box, its hinged on the top and bottom so you can open it from either side.

Hello
Time
Hello everyone!
I stumbled onto this site doing a search for a laserdisc player to play my 1995 "faces" Trilogy set. I am glad to see that I am not the only one who is a little disappointed in the changes Lucas has made to the original Trilogy.

You guys certainly seem to know your stuff over here. I just purchased a LD player on Ebay so hopefully I'll be watching the Trilogy again very soon in its original glory!
