REY NOBODY - A Collaborative Thread
Time

This doesn’t solve the deeper problems mentioned above, but it’s a foundation point that could branch out into further edits that would shape the “Just Rey” concept. To clarify I know I’m not the first to re-edit the ending, but I think it’s one of the more successful attempts.

I also have a version with the more traditional Williams fanfare:

And if you’re interested in how we achieved the effect, we have a tutorial here. It’s so subtle that most people I’ve shown don’t even notice the effect, but it did take a lot of finessing to get perfect, and we were lucky with the shot timing and focal length:

Info: Just Rey
Time

Like a lot of people, I was disappointed by the ending of The Rise of Skywalker. I was a fan of where Rian Johnson seemed to be going with Rey’s character in TLJ and wanted to revise the ending of TROS to reflect where I thought he was heading. In this version, Rey sees the ghosts of Luke and Leia on Tatooine, but instead of taking their name, declares “I’m Rey.” I added more of a somber score based on Rey’s theme to end the trilogy on a more reflective tone than the usual fanfare.
