Like I said. I think there is something inherent in the file that’s causing that.
But certain players/hardware aren’t affected. I can’t explain it, but the exact file for me worked on one computer but not another.

You can try some different software other than VLC. Maybe if you use MPC or MPV it might play it fine?

HEY! i just watched the whole thing on TV and it was FLAWLESS 😃.

I used Potplayer and the issue still exists. Tried Media Player Classic. Still there. But its okay. 2 seconds of glitch wont ruin two hours of cinema 😃

Well, I did a couple things.

  1. Confirmed that the file that I have RAR’d is exactly the same as the original.
  2. I ran the file on 2 different computers (both with VLC, same version). On one computer it was fine, on the other computer I saw the problem. Here’s the “snapshot”.

Exactly
So we could safely assume that the file is okay and the issue is only with rendering either due to the media player or the pc hardware (only probable cause)!!! .I thought my file is corrupt and deleted my copy 😭.
Need to download this again. Thank you for making time to look into this issue.

Well I’m no expert, but I would guess it’s a combination of the 2.
There is something wonky with that small section of the file. And for some reason, some hardware or software decoders can handle it and some cannot.
?

Yo bro, the issue still exists. I don’t know how or why. This is the 3rd time I’ve redownloaded the file. Guess its just not in our hands. Better believe the file’s good and just pretend need different hardware than killing time trying to fix it. Better leave it at that. Now only RoTK left to download.

Hi all. I know this post will be buried here on page 15, but I cannot edit the first post 😃.
But the Dr. has given me permission to share the dremastered versions.
If anyone still needs any of the 3 dremastered version films, you can send me a PM.

Was there ever an extended release of these?

No(t yet).

there is a problem of pixelation right at 2:40:30 when boromir is pierced by those arrows and the orcs pass by him. Its a pretty big one cannot be missed. I was wondering if the issue reached your notice.

Hi. You are quoting me, but I was just sharing the files. Not sure if there’s much I can do.

Well, that’s a bit of a lie. Seeing all this talk, I thought it’s (unlikely, yet) possible that the original files are fine, don’t have any pixelation. But the problem was somehow introduced with my files that I’m sharing.

I looked for a few minutes though, and the first reports of this issue were months before my post that you quoted, where I first mentioned I can share.
So I’m even more sure now that whatever issue that’s there, it is probably in the original file.

I’ll do a bit more research and try to see for sure.
Maybe also a page sent to the good doctor might help get some info about it.

Hey I only quoted you to get your attention cause I thought you might be able to help. No offense intended whatsoever.

I can’t seem to seen any pixelation. I (re)downloaded the movies a couple of weeks ago and handbraked them to a smaller filesize.

Maybe take a look at 2:40 minute timestamp and let me know. Right when Boromir kneels and the orcs pass by him. There a pretty jarring pixelation. I downloaded the movies twice. Had the issue both times. I cannot understand if its my problems or the file itself is corrupted.

Ok, I was able to find a link to FOTR Dremastered theatrical but I am wondering if anyone else sees some pixelation corruption for about 2 seconds at 2:40:30 this is after Boromir got shot with three arrows and the orcs took the two hobbits.

This is a minor issue considering the whole remainder of the Dremastered FOTR theatrical movie plays fine. I re-downloaded to a fast SSD drive and exactly the same issue same spot. Can anyone else confirm if this minor corruption is also in their downloaded Dremastered FOTR theatrical version? It is unmistakable, can’t miss it if it is present. I also tried different video players MPC and VLC on PC and pixelation corruption issue still there.

Please respond if you can clear up this observation for me.

I have the same issue and was wondering if anyone brought it up. What do I do?
