Star Trek Deep Space Nine - DVD to 1080pHD Upscale
Time

Leland,
I have just realised I can run Netflix on my pc via a browser and also have your files running next to it via a video player. I will ‘tinker’ with my Handbrake filters over the next week or so and then run a screen comparison to the Netflix output in the browser. I will also run the .mvk’s next to Netflix as a comparison so you know what your original output looks like in comparison.

Have you just pasted the .jpg’s in the box?

Leland,

Thank you so much for access to S01 E1-5.
I had just finished S1E1 on Netflix when I received the links, I decided to watch 1-5 on Netflix and then watch your videos.
Firstly, I was initially confused with the numbering as the titles didn’t match the numbering, I then realised that Netflix had messed up, they have this:-

S01E1-2 Emissary
S01E2 A Man Alone
S01E3 Past Prologue
S01E4 Babel

I watched your videos initially on my PC (Windows 11) in the .MKV format via Potplayer and Windows Films & Tv Player (for comparison). I then converted them to .MP4 as my TV (LG Smart TV utilising SmartShare software to access my NAS) or I should say the software, doesn’t like .MKV. I used Handbrake to convert the files to .MP4 which then allows side by side comparison in both formats. My primary monitor is a 27" Aoc 4K unit which is connected to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti which provides excellent quality.
The handbrake conversion filter I have used initially is its std default which is a 1080p 30 x264, I am not an expert in these matters, however, I thought I would run the std filter then have a play with others like the Super HQ 2160 Surround and see if there is any difference, this will take some time.

I have taken some comparative pictures of the Potplayer and Films & Tv side by side but not sure how to upload.

Initially, the only difference between the .mkv and .mp4 seems to be a slight screen size difference, the quality however is still fantastic compared to the original.

I will continue to run different filters/converters over your files and compare, I will also be watching the .mp4’s on my TV this weekend and will report back, its a shame I cannot have netflix and smartshare loaded at the same time for a side to side comparison on the TV.

Thank you for your hard work on this and other series and I look forward to seeing more of them.
