Michael Mann is notorious that keeps tinkering with his films for pretty much every video release, I think all DVDs and the blu-ray of Heat are slightly different from each other, and from the theatrical cut as well.

There are at least three or four versions of Manhunter, three versions of Thief (original theatrical cut, the LD cut and the director’s cut which was released in blu-ray with retarded blue tint), I think The Insider might be his only film which was released in the theatrical cut on dvd and blu-ray.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mann has tinkered with The Last of the Mohicans for every different video release as well, and the original theatrical cut is probably not available at all, except maybe in VHS.
