I didn't even know that someone had converted those old tapes to DVD. I could have sworn the training tapes ran longer, but I lost mine years ago.

I would think this is pushing it. The R3 release is a legit release with English subtitles so it wouldn't count as "preservation." Timing the two English dubs to the DVD release would probably count.

OT: I've had this set for a few years and it's worth the money to track down a copy. I think I spent $17 shipped for my set.

i actually have this, if you're talking about the anchor bay or elite dvd (i forget exactly what it is, havent watched it in a while)

The Anchor Bay 2 DVD set with the International and Director's Cut, yes. I'm still kicking myself for having not bought it when it came out years ago.

I wouldn't mind seeing this project. I'm still trying to track down the collector two dvd set at a non-eBay inflated price. Since the 150 OC was only seen at the studio, I would imagine any version floating around would be a workprint.

yes it would. I had also debated adding an optional opening video primer which would sum up some of what has happened inbetween the TV series and the movie possibly using the comic and other footage. But this is all mute, for me at least, until class stops giving me so much work every day so I can try to learn editing.

I wrote out an outline using the existing film, deleted scenes (US & Oz), some outtakes, and possibly a couple of exterior shots from the TV series. Sadly, my lack of knowledge on how to edit the film after ripping the VOBs & remixing the 2.0 audio to match the existing 5.1 is what is stopping me. The goal was to end up fleshing out the plot better and peppering back in some humour which the TV show fans enjoyed.

You should check this out to see the difference between the 10 & 21 scene releases. Fox messed up while most regions outside of R1 got a 21 scene DVD set.
