Please forgive my ignorance, but not being a film and theater aficionado, I don’t understand what a grindhouse version of Star Wars means. According to Wikipedia, grindhouse are horror, splatter and exploitation films. I also don’t know what the LLP version is, and googling it didn’t reveal any suitable answers other than Limited Liability Partnership. Also, what is a silverscreen version?

There should be a subtitles folder included with your download that contains the subs for like fifteen different languages, English and Russian included.

Thanks for the response, there were no readme files included with the torrents, and near as I can tell, they are the latest, greatest and biggest versions(2.7, 2.5 and 2.0), each nearly 20GB in size. I just found the info about the decoder ring and stuff for downloading the whole project, so I’m downloading the 3GB file now with the, I’m assuming, SUP files. I’ve never used SUP files for subs, so I look forward to seeing what they are like.

• template: used only for creating new subtitles

English also has “mono”, which is for use only with the mono mixes, which have slightly different lines and timing from the more common stereo/6-channel mixes. At first I thought there was more than one mono mix for Empire, but there’s only one so the 16mm nomenclature has been removed in the most recent versions and it’s just “mono” now.

If you want the English subs for the default English audio, what you want is -native, or -sdh-native, depending if you want the other audio cues for the hearing impaired or not.

Also, ideally, you wouldn’t be messing around with SRT files at all. I think I lost this fight long ago, but the complete Project Threepio files include SUP files, which are better all-around and don’t some in quite so many different flavors. But they’re considerably larger, so are not included with Despecialized.

So I’m having a hard time understanding the difference in some of the subtitle files that come with Despecialized Editions.

I don’t understand what mono, native, templates, 16mm mono native, full. What’s the difference between full or mono, words spoken are words spoken whether you hear them in mono or stereo; native what; and why are there separate ones for 16mm?

About the only things I’ve been able to figure out is nocrawl, sdh and titles.
