Star Wars Rebels Recut - A Fanedit TV Series
Time

Acbagel said:

Also g00b, what do you think about replacing the dialogue of Mon Mothma’s speech in S3E18 (not sure where in your series that falls) with the speech from Andor last night? There’s an odd lack of continuity between them now, but I don’t think it would be too hard to bring the Andor audio into that holotransmission to fix that!

I could be misremembering, but I thought the speech in the Senate was meant to be different than the speech that was broadcast throughout the galaxy. In Andor, I think it was Kleya who said that Mon Mothma was going to be picked up by the Ghost crew and they were going to “rewrite the story of Mothma’s defection and make it into a rallying cry”, which is the speech that was shown in Rebels. With that, there should be very little continuity errors because they were meant to be two separate speeches.

Kenobi: Trials Of The Master - Fanedit by PixelJoker95
Time

I check in on this once a week, and it looks like we have some unfortunate news from PixelJoker95’s YouTube Channel. He wrote:

I usually refrain from posting bad news, but it’s really a terrible time for me right now.

I was in the middle of recording a tutorial for a new-ish type of VFX I’m doing for TOTM when the rack that holds my hard drives fell to the floor, along with the drives, of course.

Out of 8 HDDs, 2 of the most important ones no longer work—the one with all my personal data (including all of the family photos and early works), and the one with half of the TOTM reshoots, sounds, and source footage.

Luckily, the disk with the Premiere and Nuke project files survived, so in theory, I can re-link everything if I manage to recover any data from the failed drives.

Overall, the last few weeks haven’t been great, to be honest, and this seems to be the culmination…

I’ll see what kind of work I can still do so I don’t waste my time waiting for a solution, but good old Murphy sure is trying to make it difficult for me…

(The Mandalorian+BoBF) The Way of Mandalore | A Legends Movie Saga (Final Update in Progress: 5/6 Done)
Time

Take all the time you need. Just glad to hear that it’s still in the works, albeit on the back burner. I’ll definitely be checking out this new project you have been working on, had no clue!

I know you need more time with Book 6, but if memory serves me correctly, you were holding off releasing Book 5 because of a handful of scenes you were undecided on including in Book 5 or 6. Out of curiosity, did you make a decision, and can we expect Book 5 somewhat soon?

Not a big deal, but I noticed something regarding the first four books. I believe I have the latest versions, as you sent me a link to these via DM, and I double checked the links and they are still accessible. Basically, Book 2 and 4 have a 1920 x 1080 resolution, whereas Book 1 and 3 have a 3840 x 2160 resolution. Not a big deal, but for consistency sake, I wasn’t sure if there is a higher quality version of Book 2 and 4 available to match those of 1 and 3. If you end up making any additional changes based on some of the suggestions made by others, just figured I would point it out.

Great work otherwise, and I can’t wait for the final two books!

Game of thrones edits where daenerys does not die?
Time

I’ve always liked the Fire and Ice edit of Seasons 7 & 8. You can find the trailer on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6-dshXzjr8&t=1s and from there I’m sure you can reach out to the creator. Here in OT, there is a user who created a Redeemed edit of Seasons 7 & 8, with similar fixes as the Fire and Ice edit. Not sure if Daenerys lives or dies, as I haven’t watched it yet, though I will soon. If you scroll through the forums, I’m sure you’ll find it.

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

I finally saw V5, and I was blown away with how much the movie has improved from the theatrical release. I didn’t see what others were talking about regarding Luke’s force ghost being red instead of blue, it looked fine to me. The ONLY thing that was distinctly noticeable was the line of dialogue from C3PO that sounded off, which I believe was the Lego star wars line that Jar Jar Bricks was referring to. I can’t remember the line since I watched it last week, but it definitely sounded like it was a different pitch and his head movements didn’t seem to match. But aside from that minor quirk, I don’t see anything egregious. As for the discussion between Luke/Leia/Rey, I understand both sides, but with what options we have, I think Hal did the best he could, and I think it’s fine as is. You can only polish a turd so much.

Overall, it’s a fantastic improvement. Thank you so much!

Kenobi: Trials Of The Master - Fanedit by PixelJoker95

Patterson’s cut was decent…but I don’t know of any ‘new FX work’ that you described. If any exists, it’s not even close to the same realm as what pixeljoker is doing. And if you haven’t seen the youtube video pixeljoker released over a year ago, he filmed WHOLE NEW SCENES, so it’s more than just an edit and visual overhaul. That being said, you’re right that it’s hard to imagine Kenobi becoming something as good as the OT, but I don’t think that’s the goal, just a product with the quality we would hope to expect from our favorite franchise. I for one, am excited to see what he accomplishes.

Sequal Trilogy Recommendation
Time

If you’re looking for the definitive versions of the sequel trilogy, then I would recommend:
The Force Awakens: Starlight by NeverarGreat
The Last Jedi: Rekindled by poppasketti
The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant by Hal 9000 (a V5 is in the works, and will likely be released soon)

That being said, I watched The Legend of the Solo Twins a couple months ago, and it’s an amazing reimagining of the sequel trilogy. No Palpatine, and Snoke is the ‘final villain’. It was really clever how the editor incorporated his scenes from the Last Jedi to be inside the chamber in Rise of Skywalker, and while it’s not perfect, it is a rather consistent experience and far better than the ‘official’ versions.

I have never seen JakeRyan17’s cut. If you watch it, let me know what you think.
