I was really looking forward to this edit since I think some of his ideas were great and haven’t been done before for this specific movie but, having been an avid reader of this forum and just now signing up, his response to the (valid) concerns some of you guys had as well as some of his recent videos have really turned me off checking this out. I probably will see it when he eventually puts it out but my excitement for this has died down a bit after all this mess.

As a huge fan of the original novel, I was really let down by Tate Taylor’s adaptation of THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN. I feel like sloppy editing and a few clunky bits of dialogue and exposition ruined what otherwise could have been a great film. The main cast were all great and I want to see if, with a tighter edit that fixes the pacing issues and removes the cringeworthy scenes, there’s an actually good film hidden underneath. I’m currently working on editing the film and so far, I’m removing the scenes that I found to be awkward and unnecessary. I’m looking to make more changes and among the ones I’ve considered are removing the different narratives and making it completely revolve around Emily Blunt’s character but I’m still on the fence about that. What do you guys think? Any ideas for changes that could improve on this film? Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
