Just out of pure curiosity, if the subtitles were extracted from a 35mm print, why was timing for putting them back in taken from the 16mm print? What’s wrong with the timing in the 35mm print they’re extracted from?

I think before the line temp=orig.TemporalSoften(7,255,255,25,2) if you put
orig = last
I think that will address the error you’re getting.
