Hi

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with burning the avchd version on a Mac.

I can’t seem to find the blank dvd’s large enough to burn either New Hope of Empire strikes back, as they’re both above 8.5 gigs.

from what I understood, I had to just copy the files unto the disk in Finder to initiate the burning, but with the file size I don’t know what I’m to do?

does anyone have a solution, or would this require a Blu Ray burner, if so does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Adey77,
I also have a Mac and downloaded the avchd version of Star Wars. (Star Wars Despecialized 2.7 AVCHD) When I check the size of the file on my Mac it says it’s 8.48Gb on disk. So it should be possible to burn on a dual layer DVD (also known as a DVD9). I recommend using Toast Titanium. I don’t want to burn the avchd version but I’ve imported the files to see what Toast Titanium has to say about it and it seems there’s no problem. The software reads that it will take 7.90 Gb on the disk and that there will be 56.5 Mb of free disk space left.
I hope this helps.

Hi there! I just learnt about the new versions but I am a newbie on how to get the propper files to enjoy the new trilogy versions at home. Can anyone help me? I need the correct nzb file for the DVD9 versions. (As I work on a Mac I can’t run any .exe files neither) Thank you and may the force be with us!

Hi gamexl!

Did you ever get any help from anyone?

I’m not sure why you would need an nzb file, even using a Mac.

Once you have the links to all the rar files, it’s just a matter of downloading them with a download manager (for speed’s sake) and extracting them.

Can you give some more details on what step it is in the process of downloading and extracting that giving you problems?

Did you notice the post directly above yours??? In case you’re still not tracking, make sure to click the expand buttons…

On NZBKing, search for “despecialized AVCHD” and Towne32’s 2.7 version of Star Wars is the top hit. All parts are there, so it should download fine.

Great! Thank you for the information. Just what I needed!

Sometimes I’m not sure if people remember to read before posting…

In case you needed clarification, nzbs are usenet files. Much like a torrent file, they can be loaded into a usenet reader/downloader program, and the program will download the file and (usually) unpack it. Usenet has the advantage of saturating your download bandwidth, unlike torrents which only download at the speed of the connected peers’ allowed upload bandwidth.

Dear ahughes03,
Yes thnak you. I got help by the fine people on this forum. And I asked for nzb files because I usualy work with them. I prefer how Usenet files work above Torrent ones. I found the trilogy and already have seen ‘A new hope’ in it’s most glorious original version to date!
So everyone here on Original Trilogy who helped and care about the project: Thanx! And a great shout out to the guys who make this all possible, expecialy Harmy! On top of that I wish you all a great 2017! May the force be with y’all!!!

Help: looking for... jambedavdar's trilogy - and some of the best edits around...
Time

Hi, I’m new to this forum. I’ve been reading some topics and I think originaltrilogy.com is a great place for the true fans of the original Star Wars films.

I’ve been lucky enough to see an awesome fan edit. Jambedavdar’s “Star Wars Begins” and I enjoyed a lot. However, I would like to own “Building Empire” and “Returning to Jedi”. I haven’t seen both of them.

I tried to get them on a.b.starwars but the files were posted too long ago. Can anyone repost both Fan Edits on a.b.starwars? I would be very thankful!!!

I’ll be reading about other fan edits on the forum, cause I don’t really know the other edits. Maybe you guys can advice me on the best Fan Edits around?

Thanx!

May the force be with y’all!!!  😃
